Sister Sacramento

Sacramento lives to go

She doesn’t know

She doesn’t know

Quite what is wrong with her

But she can’t seem to make amends

With the old town clowns

She feels a little higher

As the sun burns her like fire

The sun strangling

Choking on down

And she’s the strongest kid around

She wishes she could go outside

Everyone’s bad side’s on the outside

Up in Sacramento

The sun shines just a little too loud

And the wind’s not strong enough

To blow away the scent of

Everybody’s dirty laundry

Pinned up above the cobblestones

And falling-down apartments

It flaps into her face on Sunday morning

Somehow she forgot

To leave it all behind

And now her heartache

Crashes into mine

Now it’s a combat zone

With her and town

She’s pointing out its lies

Now Sacramento’s sure

Not to leave her far behind

Girl, don’t you know it?

Won’t you show it?

Honey you’re no child of mine

Guilty, gross, and paranoid

You strut your strolling stride

Undeserving

Understated

I can make you lose your pride

Oh dirty girl

Dread dirty girl

Too innocent for love

Dirty girl

Too flirty girl

No angel from above

Too bad too easy too inexperienced

Two faced tight laced uppity snob

Too light short sighed dead wrong

All along and just a little Sacramento for your sins

Oh Sacramento, what are you for me?

No-mother mothers strolling the streets

Shorts-happy summer cops strolling the beats

It’s a little too much bad reaction

Overprivileged

Understood

Underoverthoughtpassed

Overestimated, dear

I tried not to judge you oh but oh!

Sister Sacramento

Everything that’s wrong with you

Is all wrong with me, too.
