and the sadness washes over me
(a wave of memories pulling me under)
as i gasp for just one (simple) breath
screaming for someone (anyone) to heal me
but there are no mermaids (only sharks)
and my mind shuts down
as their words flood my lungs
i'm destined to be swept away
alone at sea (never to be remembered)
