The Ruler

In every jungle there is a ruler to make sure that things are in order and to make sure that the ones who do rule after them are fit to do so. This ruler has to have grace, charm, a clever mind, a good sense of intuition and most of all the ability to listen to the commoners of the jungle society. Well, the ruler that I am about to introduce has none of the qualities listed above but somehow, she still got to be ruler. Her royal highness Slefid.

The Slefid has big, staring eyes a big slobbering mouth, and ears that use the most refined echolocation not for finding food, but for eavesdropping on the other creatures in the jungle. Every single generation of the Slefid has been ruler of the jungle and daily worships the god of strict discipline and the goddess of luck because she doesn’t make a very good ruler.
