Prologue : Once upon a time, in a lab far far away……

A young lady in typical white lab coat was panting, trying to take in much air as possible as she ran to the head of the Fauna Genetic Department’s office. ‘Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My GOD!’ ran through her mind repeatedly. She dashed into the room with a loud bang. “DOCTOR MARIND!!”

The middle age man dropped his coffee and it spilled all over the table. “Good GOD!” The man immediately grabbed his documents away from the black liquid as he look up with a scowl on his usual stern face. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack Marie?!, You look like crap and whats with the bloody alarm again...this is the tenth time it rung this week”

“ No Doctor! We really have a problem this time! Subject 860926566498 is missing!” She breathed out, still trying to catch her breath.

“ WHAT?! Subject 860926566498 is GONE?! How? When did it happen?!” His temper rising by the second as he slammed his documents on the table.

“Just a few minutes ago. Please follow quick”. Marie led the doctor to the elevator that was situated on the far end of the second floor and hit the button that says 4. “Tina and I were on duty to take subject 860926566498 to the physical assessment room for Doctor Samantha and Takayuki to run another test on him”. Marie took in somemoreair and exhaledand continued. “They were not there so I went to get them. I couldn’t find them then Tina called my cell phone. She found them at the store room opposite them mens washroom. I went to help and then the alarm sounded. We rushed back to the room and found that subject 860926566498 missing” Taking long strides across the hallway of various labs they turned into their destination.

The lab was filled with remaining smoke of whatever had caused it. Tina was in the room with some of the security guards looking at the broken restrains that held subject 860926566498 a moment ago. Tina acknowledges their presence and stepped aside to let them see the damage.

“Marie told me what happened”

“I have no idea how subject 860926566498 got a hold of the citric acid bottle” Tina hold up a small empty bottle for them to see with gloved hands.

“Did you call security immediately to track him down?”

“I think that is gonna be a wee bit impossible right now” Marie stated

“Now why would that be? The transmitter on the collar should be..” Doctor Marind stopped mid sentence as the security held up the said item.

“ Oh crap!”
