The Darkness Bleeds Through Me

I've no idea who I am

Or who it is I'm supposed to be.

Why do you try when I don't give a damn?

Why can't you see the light fading from around me?

As the darkness completely surrounds me?

I've no good reason to keep staying here.

I've got no reason to be.

Why do you insist on wiping my tears

and stopping my walk to the sea?

My walk to the depths of the sea.

Even as the darkness pierces through me.

Why do you bother to cry for me?

Why brush the hair from my eyes for me?

Why do you wish that I could see

All that I am and I could be

As my lifeblood leaves me slowly?

For the darkness, it does soothe me

Even now, as it consumes me.
