Allowing yourself to never be hurt;

Isn't that almost a crime?

Locking yourself up in your heart,

Letting the days just go by?

Don't be fooled by the pain and the sorrow,

For there is a great, golden lesson.

Though the scar you bear is ugly and worn,

The blessing is found deep in it's disguise.

However, here comes the bit of warning,

You must learn this lesson well,

Otherwise, another evil will endure.

The one we all know as self-loath.

So learn with an open mind;

In fact, embrace the pain!

Welcome the solitary tears!

Treat misfortune as if he were your brother.

For if we never learn to love,

From the hate that we've been shown,

Aren't we just demonstrating,

This harsh effect on our own?
