With You

Sequel

The full moon glowed brightly in the dark blue sky; the moons reflection sparkled, silver, in the rivers waters. A boy, standing near the rivers edge, looked across the cold waters to a wide field. His eyes brightened at the many flowers, and tall, leafy trees. As his eyes wandered they fell on a girl.

She leaned back on her palms, long white hair fell behind her; her eyes were closed as she basked in the light of the sun rayed moon, the pale rays made her olive skin seemingly glow.

The boys’ eyes widened, breath escaped him, as he caught sight of the snow-white cat ears sitting atop the girls’ head. An ear twitched, hearing him, the girl opened her eyes.

Lavender orbs stared into the boys’ own hazel ones; the girl sat up, her eyes flashed in the light as she moved.

“Nicolas!” a feminine voice echoed through the air; the boy looked behind him, a small cottage like house sat there, and in the doorway a woman stood, calling the boys name.

When he turned back to look at the peculiar girl, she was gone.

“Nicolas, it’s time to come in! You can play tomorrow honey” the older woman called out; the boy turned, his black hair shadowed the saddened expression on his face.

As the sun sat behind fluffy-shaped-clouds, and a light wind blew; two young children ran in a wide field, their kites tangling several times then falling to the ground.

The dark haired boy untangled the strings then handed one of the kites to a small girl, about his age. The two laughed and began flying their kites once more.

The dark haired boy, Nicolas, ran, unaware of the limited string for his kite. As the string came to an end and rolled off the wooden stick, his kite glided through the air then to the ground. Nicolas ran to retrieve his kite,

“Nicolas be careful by the river, you don’t want to fall in” a motherly voice warned, the boy nodded and picked up his kite. While he did something caught his eye.

He looked to the ground to find a small blue ribbon, as he lifted it up a long strand of white hair fell from it. The boy looked at the ribbon in shock then smiled; he tucked the ribbon in his pocket and ran back over to two older women and the second child.

10 years later

Music blared from a set of headphones, which sat over strands of black hair. Knocking at the front door was smothered by the music from the set; while the CD came to an end, the knocking finally entered the ears of a sleeping man. Slowly he opened his eyes, when the knocking ceased he cursed and jumped up from the couch.

The black haired man opened a thick metal door and poked his head out into the hallway. His eyes caught sight of raven hair,

“Heya!” the man called out to the leaving persons, “Yo hold up a minute,” he called out again; finally the dark haired stranger turned around with a bored expression.

“You were the one knocking? Sorry I didn’t answer, I was asleep” he scratched the back of his head, somewhat embarrassed.

“Sorry to bother you, I was just coming by to take a look at the apartment. This is the one up for rent right?” the raven haired man asked, unsure.

“Yup, sorry about not answering, here come in. The place is kind of messy right now but not severely. By the way, I’m Nicolas, but please called me Nick” Nick waved his hand, gesturing for the stranger to come in.

“It’s awfully dangerous, allowing a stranger to come in and all, don’t you think, Nick?”

“Well you wouldn’t be a stranger if you’d offer your name too” Nick smirked, waiting for an answer. His eyes wandered over the stranger; the man wore a gray-silver shirt along with a pair of loose jeans. He was fairly thin, probably with a small build hidden beneath the clothing. He was much taller than Nick, but his aged boots probably added some height.

The man had light olive skin, and his dark hair sat just below his shoulders. Nicks small examination ended on the mans’, typical, brown eyes.

“My name is Yue” he answered in a soft voice, “Must you size every person in that manner?”

“Well I wouldn’t want some scummy druggy living with men ow would I?”

“Living with you?” Yue quirked an eyebrow at the statement

“Well ya, I put the AD up because I need a roommate. Prices on apartments like this tend to rise once in a while. Sorry if that messes with your plans” Nick leaned against an off-white couch, with his arms crossed.

“Still wanna look at the place?”

“Sure” Yue nodded as Nick began the small tour.

“There are two floors, my rooms on the bottom, so you have the luck of living on the second floor.” He began explaining until Yue cut him off

“That’s a bit odd, any reason in particular why you don’t room up top? Just curious”

“Your name's a bit odd. And you don’t look European or Asian. How’d you get your name? Just curious is all” Nick shrugged with a mocking smile as he twisted the conversation.

“I’m neither, nor am I American or any other race in particular. My name was only given to me by my parents because they found meaning in it.” Yue answered while also examining the apartment. It was quiet large for a two bedroom apartment. The walls were painted a soft white, with occasional marks, most likely made by moving furniture.

“There are three bathrooms, two down here, and one on the second floor.” Nick continued ignoring Yue’s earlier question

“Three bathrooms? For two rooms?”

“Ya, two of the bathrooms only have a sink and toilet. The third has a bath and shower, I kind of like it, only because the bathtub and shower are large enough for about 6 people to fit into them.”

“Uh huh, and I suspect the larger bathroom is down here?”

“Of course, just over here” Nick turned a corner, Yue followed, as he turned the corner he nearly bumped into Nick, who was standing in the doorway of the bathroom.

“Heh, ya that corner is deceiving; it’s pretty useless but whatever. Here’s the bathroom”

“Wow” Yue admired the golden trims and red curtains; “I don’t suppose you’re the one who decorated?”

“Course not; the landlady’s daughter decorates the apartments. Said something about going to some designer school” Nick shrugged uncaring and continued back into the living room.

“Here’s the kitchen,” he made a sharp turn into a mediocre kitchen. There was checkered tile, along with a mustard yellow wall. Yue scrunched his nose at the colors.

“Pretty ugly but who cares, the appliances work, that’s all that matters to me. Guess the last place to show you is the second floor.” Nick slipped passed Yue and out of the kitchen, they stepped up a small spiraling staircase, to the second floor of the apartment.

The walls were a silver blue with several pictures of nature, in square frames, hanging on the walls. It was like a short hallway, there were three doors, glass doors sat on the end wall, leading to a small balcony. A second door led to the bathroom and the third to a fairly spacious bedroom. A full size, metal, bed sat in the corner; the only other things sitting in the room were a wooden desk and chair, and then two small metal shelves and a small nightstand next to the bed.

The walls were painted a light gray, nearly white, and the floor was plain concrete.

“How homey” Yue smiled sarcastically, “How much has the rent gone up to, exactly?”

“About 1500”

“So I’d be paying half, that’s 750, hmm… that’s a lot more expensive than I was hoping. I need a place now though, would it be alright with you if I didn’t pay until next month? I haven’t found a job yet but I’d be moving in the day after tomorrow”

“Next month eh?” Nick stroked his chin then smirked, “Fine with me, but there’s one minor detail to that then. For the month you don’t pay your half, you gotta clean and cook.”

“Deal” Yue held out his hand and the two shook

“Ok then I’ll go ask the landlady, for the papers you need to sign, tomorrow. I just have a few questions for ya, Yue”

“Yeah?”

“How old are you?” Nick plopped onto the bare bed waiting for an answer.

“19”

“Ok, and what’s your full name, oh and why exactly are you looking for an apartment?”

“I can understand you asking my name, but is it really necessary to know why I want to live on my own?”

“Not really” Nick shrugged

“My full name, truthfully I don’t know it. I was adopted when I was young; they never gave me a last name, only a first. And to answer your other question, I want to find an apartment as part of living on my own. I probably won’t stay too long since I haven’t decided when or where I’m going to go to school, or if I am at all. Anything else you’d like to know?”

“Nope, guess that’s all,” Nick stood with a childish grin then something came to mind,

“Actually there is one more thing I’m curious about. Earlier you said you weren’t any race. What does that mean exactly?”

“Nothing in particular, I have my secrets.”

“Uh huh” Nick crossed his arms and looked at Yue curiously then shrugged, leaving the room. Yue followed and handed Nick his number, on a torn paper.

“Guess I’ll be back here tomorrow to sign the papers, there’s my number in case anything happens.”

“Alright, see ya later”

“Bye”

Nick closed the door and shoved the paper into his pocket then headed towards his room. He opened the door and walked into his room; the walls were covered in pictures, sketches, all of various things but connected to the same thing. Some were of cat eyes, ears, but most of them were sketches of a cat girl sitting with her head facing the sky.

A few days later

Yue plopped onto his new bed; navy blue sheets covered the mattress along with a soft blue comforter. He still hadn’t finished unpacking everything, and wasn’t planning on it either. He only unpacked the important things, like a toothbrush, bed sheets, clothes, and such. Yue hopped off the bed and opened his door, crossing the small hall he closed his bathroom door and sighed.

“This would be a lot easier if I had found an apartment without a roommate. Oh well at least I’ve got my own floor… sorta” Yue turned on the faucet and lowered his head under the warm waters; black washed from his hair and caused the sink to blacken for a moment. Yue kept his head under the falling water until it ran clear again. He dried his hair, leaving the towel over his head, Yue opened a contact container. He touched each eye, taking out brown colored lenses. He places the colored contacts in their case and closed it.

He looked at his reflection in the mirror, a pair of lavender orbs stared back at him; his white hair fell down his back in wet locks.

“He’d notice my hair sooner or later, so there’ll be no use in hiding it I guess. Maybe I should though… I’ll defiantly have to keep hiding this, no human could ever comprehend…” Yue trailed off as he unlocked a blue bracelet from around his wrist. He looked back into the mirror and smiled; a pair of white cat-like ears stuck out on his head.

A sudden knock on the bathroom door startled Yue,

“Y-yah?”

“Hey Yue I’m going to work now, if anyone calls the phone downstairs just let it ring ‘kay?”

“Sure” Yue put his hand to his chest, waiting for his heart to calm, he sighed placing the bracelet back onto his wrist and locking it. The ears on his head disappeared and human ears replaced them on the side of his head.

Yue tied his hair back in a high ponytail and returned to his room.

A musical ring awoke Yue from his nap, he turned onto his back and reached over for his cell phone. The ring repeated then stopped when Yue finally flipped the phone open.

“Hello…?” he answered sleepily

“Sorry to wake you kitten but Ryu and I wanted to check up on you and your new apartment.”

“Oh, Damien, everything’s fine. The only downside is, is that I have a roommate.” Yue sat up with a yawn

“You’re keeping the bracelet on right?”

“Yah, and I’ve been using wash out dye for when I go out, along with the contacts you guys bought me”

“I’m sorry you have to hide like this Yue. You should be able to freely live with your features”

“It’s not your fault, the world has just grown unused to my kind. They are near extinction nowadays, I’m used to it” Yue answered softly, his expression turning blank for a moment.

“Yue?”

“Yah Damien?”

“Would it be ok if Ryu and I came to look at the apartment this weekend? Ryu’s been obsessing over you leaving and all” the voice on the other end laughed lightly

“Sure thing, I’ll just need to tell my roommate when he gets home”

“Aw my little kitten has grown up. Just be careful not to fall in love with him ok?” Damien laughed teasingly

“I’m not gonna fall in love! Unlike you two I’m not gay!” Yue’s face turned pink at the comment, “I’m hanging up now”

“Ha, ha bye kitten”

Yue closed the cellular phone and tossed it back onto the small night stand. He stood and walked to his small bathroom.

Half an hour later Yue came out of the bathroom again, his hair shone black, and his eyes hid behind brown contacts again.

“No use in staying here… I should probably go find a job” Yue stuck out his tongue at the idea then shrugged, grabbing his keys and his phone, he left the large apartment.

After nearly three hours of walking around town, Yue stopped at a small café bakery shop, to get a drink. After ordering a small ice coffee Yue noticed a ‘Help Wanted’ sign next to the various cakes, within a glass window.

“What are you hiring for?” Yue asked the older woman behind the counter. She brushed back her brown hair and smiled kindly.

“Someone to help clean up in the afternoons, and to work the coffee machines.”

“How much an hour?”

“It differs, depending on how many customers, but from the amount made everyday you’d get about a quarter sum. There are only three people working here at the time.”

“Is there an application I could fill out for the job?”

“No, I’d just have to ask you a few questions”

“Ok,” Yue looked around to find no one else entering the shop, “Ask away then, if you have time that is?”

“Alright then, give me a minute and I’ll talk to you over at that table” she pointed to a small table by the window then disappeared in the back.

Yue waited until she came back out, her hair tied back in a bun. The woman sat down and smiled,

“What is your name son?” she asked politely

“Yue”

“I’m Caron Daney, the owner. Let’s see, are you god at cleaning?”

“Yah, I’m actually good at baking as well”

“Oh really? That’s a good talent. You look like a nice young man but I have to ask, have you ever been arrested or in any serious trouble?”

“Never, and I don’t smoke or do any illegal activities.”

“Good, and how old are you?”

“I’m 19, ma’am”

“Well you seem fit for the job, would you like to start next week? I just need to shuffle some things around before you can start.”

“That’s fine with me, thanks so much Mrs. Daney”

“It’s just Ms. Daney” she smiled, shaking hands with Yue, “I’ll see you Monday then, the store opens at 9”

“Ok, I’ll see you then ma’am”

“Goodbye”

Yue walked home feeling relieved that he had finally found a job. As soon as he walked into the apartment he grabbed a towel from upstairs and went into the larger bathroom for a shower.

Yue relaxed under the warm waters, as he turned the faucet and got out he noticed a shadow pass by under the doorway.

‘Nick must be back from work’ Yue thought to himself as he wrapped a towel around his waist. He opened the door and walked to the stairs

“Holy hells!”

Yue turned, surprised, to find Nick staring at him,

“Your hair’s as white as the walls, when did you bleach it?”

“Never, before I was just using wash out dye. It’s easier than walking around the streets with white hair, it catches the eye too easily”

“Well ya! Wow it looks awesome, what’s your natural color?” Nick walked closer staring at Yue’s hair

“This is it” Yue smiled, unsure of Nick’s full reaction to his answer

“Really? Wow that’s almost creepy…” Nick looked at Yue for a moment, his eyes wandered over Yue’s slight build.

“Nick?” Yue crossed his arms after the silence, “I’m gonna go get dressed, unless you need to further stare at me?”

A blush crept over Nick’s face after Yue pointed out his staring,

“Ah s-sorry I didn’t mean to stare… your hair is um… nice” Nick turned on his heel and walked into his room, his face beet red.

Yue walked up the stairs, half blushing himself.

After changing Yue walked back downstairs and into the kitchen, to find something to eat. When finding nothing but junk food, Yue decided to go get actual food at the store.

Yue knocked on Nick’s bedroom door,

“I’m going to get some food, anything in particular that you’d like?” Yue asked through the door

“Not really” Nick called out in reply

Yue tucked his hair under a cap and slipped on his shoes before leaving once again.

Nick had locked himself within his room after the embarrassing moment he had stared at Yue, he wasn’t attracted to men. For some reason though he liked looking at Yue, and his hair, Nick looked at the many pictures on his wall.

‘Her hair looked just like his, if only longer…’ Nick thought to himself as he looked at his wall.

The sudden aroma of pasta drifted into his room, Nick’s stomach grumbled as he realized how hungry he was.

Yue stood in the small kitchen, noodle boiled in one pan while sauce bubbled in another.

“Wow that smells good”

Yue turned to find Nick leaning against the doorframe of the kitchen

“It’s easy to make, I got other things too, if you wanted to eat something else?” Yue suggest nodding at the fridge

“Nah, spaghetti sounds fine for tonight. Better than what I usually ate” Nick chuckled, pushing away from the frame, he walked over and slumped on the couch.

Once they ate Yue cleaned up and put everything away; halfway up the stairs he stopped. A sudden pain jolted through his wrist. Yue breathed out, taking in sharp breaths, he used the railing to pull himself upstairs. His eyes widened and he curled over as the pain stabbed through his lower chest.

“A-ah…hah!” Yue breathed out trying to catch his breath. It felt as if his body was being crushed, little by little, most of the pain sat in his wrist. He looked at the bracelet around it and quickly clawed it off. The pain eased as the bracelet fell to the ground, Yue’s ears stung as they reappeared a top his head.

He crawled the rest of the way to his bedroom, he grabbed his blankets, hoping to lift himself onto his bed. Finally he collapsed, the blankets covering him on the floor.

The next morning the sun peered into the room, Yue lay, still asleep on the floor. Nick called up from downstairs, only to get no reply.

“Yue? You can’t still be asleep can you? It’s already 2 o’clock” Nick made his way up the stairs. He stopped when he heard knocking on the door but ignored it when he also noticed Yue’s bedroom door open. He walked to the doorway and rushed to Yue’s side when he found him on the ground.

“Yue?” Nick hurried to unravel the blankets

Stop” a stern voice landed in Nick’s ears and he froze, he turned his head to find two men standing in the doorway of the room.

“Who are you two? How did you get in!?” Nick stood alarmed

“We were knocking only to find the door open” a dark haired man smiled kindly, “My names Damien, this is Ryu” he gestured to the taller man next to him, “We’re friends of Yue’s”

“Yeah well…” Nick looked down at Yue, Damien noticed the still body and quickly kneeled by his side.

Ryu entered the room as well, pushing Nick out of the room and closing the door.

Damien finished unraveling Yue, he lifted the boy onto his bed and sat by his side, stroking his hair out of his face.

“Yue?” Damien held the back of his hand to Yue’s cheek

Slowly Yue opened his eyes, he looked into a pair of blue eyes which slowly returned to their natural brown. He looked to the side into crystal colored eyes, then smiled.

“Yue what happened? I found your bracelet next to the stairs, a very close call with your roommate” Damien helped Yue sit up

“I’m not sure, I suddenly couldn’t breathe, and my wrist stung. I took the bracelet off then collapsed by my bed. I think the bracelet has some serious side effects, the pain let up when I took it off”

“Oh?” Damien looked at the blue bracelet in his hand then handed it to Ryu.

“I’m fine now though”

“I can see that” Damien pet the white ears atop Yue’s head, they twitched at the touch, “My little kitten” Damien smiled, “Your roommate seemed very concerned about you when he was in here”

“Nick was in here!? He didn’t see my ears did he?”

“No, the blankets were covering you still”

Yue sighed relieved then relaxed,

“What am I going to do about the bracelet?”

“We’re not sure,” Ryu finally spoke, “I’ll look at it when we get home, for now just wear a hat to hide them.”

Yue slumped his shoulders at the idea then nodded in agreement.

Nick sat on the couch, frustrated, he jumped up when Yue finally came downstairs. A hat shadowed his features; the two men followed behind him. Yue finally took a moment to take in their features, the man named Damien had short brown hair, he didn’t look much older than Yue, but he definitely had a larger build. The man behind them, Ryu, had longer brown hair, he was taller than all three and had a strong build, someone Nick would make sure not to tick off.

“Yue are you ok?” Nick stood still as Yue smiled and stopped in front of him

“I’m fine, I just tripped and hit my head last night. No damage luckily.”

“Oh, that’s good” Nick relaxed then looked at the two men behind Yue

“Nick these are my foster parents, Damien and Ryu”

“Foster parents?” Nick looked at them shocked and confused, “So they’re… gay?” he hesitated, not wanting to offend them.

“Guess so” Yue laughed softly, his laugh calmed Nick, though he wasn’t sure why.

“So they just came to check up on everything?”

Nick sprawled out on the couch while Yue closed the door.

“Yah,” Yue rubbed the back of his neck then cracked it as he stretched. He itched to take off the hat but knew he couldn’t.

“Damien’s pretty cool, but Ryu seems kind of… mean”

“Ha, ha, yah he’s the type who doesn’t usually laugh. But Damien and Ryu are probably some of the best parents, and they really are in love, ever since the day they met.”

“How long have they been together?”

“About 20 years” Yue lied thinking to himself, ‘More like a thousand… how long has it actually been since I met them?’

Yue’s flashback

A small boy cried. He curled up next to a tree as rain poured from the sky. His white hair covered his face, except for where his small hands rubbed away the tears.

“Are you all alone little boy?” a soft voice asked, “Poor thing, where are your parents?” the voice asked.

The boy looked up at two men, both dressed in beige robes. One man’s face was covered partly by the robe, white hair covered his eyes. The man standing closer had short brown hair and eyes that matched the color, the man smiled gently and sat next to the boy.

“Those are very cute ears you have” the man looked up at the small white cat ears on the boys’ head, “my name’s Damien, can I know your name too?”

“I-I don’t have a name” the child hiccupped from crying so much

“Well then, would it be alright if I called you kitten for now?” Damien asked stroking the boys’ hair, “Or maybe Ryu, since you both have the same hair color” Damien grinned looking up at the other male.

The boy turned to Damien and smiled. Damien looked at the cat-child’s light purple eyes, he didn’t notice as the boy snuggled up to him. Damien looked down at the small figure then wrapped his robe around the both of them. Ryu jumped up onto the lowest branch and sat, watching for any suspicious creatures.

Back to the present

‘What was that, about 800 or more years ago? Its been so long’ Yue mentally smiled to himself at the memory.

“I’m going to bed now, night”

“Just be careful not to fall again” Nick teased, half serious though

“I won’t” Yue laughed making his way upstairs

Once Yue closed and locked his door he tossed his hat into the corner and flopped onto his bed. He turned over and looked out the single window in his room. The sun slowly but quickly fell under the horizon.

“Shit” Yue cursed as he quickly got up, “Please no, not tonight, please” he crept out of his room and towards the balcony, he opened the glass door and stepped outside. He looked up at the darkening sky and cursed once more.

“I completely forgot about the damned moon!”

He stilled as a tingling sensation filled his body, once he passed he rushed into his bathroom, forgetting to close the balcony door.

“Stupid full moon” he locked the door and looked at his reflection.

Yue’s white hair sat over his shoulders, but instead of falling onto a flat chest they fell onto grown breasts. His features were more feminine now; Yue removed his contacts and looked into his purple eyes, black slits formed in the center now.

He had changed completely into a woman, his eyes more catlike now as well.

Yue opened the bathroom door and checked to make sure Nick hadn’t decided to pay him a visit. Seeing that all the lights were off, except for the bathroom and his bedroom lights; Yue tip-toed out of the bathroom and towards his room. He stopped in his steps and decided to go back out on to the balcony.

Yue titled his/her head up and closed his/her eyes.

Skipping a few days

“Hey Yue?” Nick knocked on Yue’s door.

It had been almost two weeks now since Yue moved in with Nick. Within that time Nick had already met Yue’s foster parents, Damien and Ryu. Yue had also started working at a small café to pay for his half of the rent.

“Morning Nick” Nick turned to find Yue in the doorway of his small bathroom; water dripped down his face and a towel was draped over his head.

“Oh hey” Nick forced himself not to look at Yue’s bare chest. He moved aside so that Yue could get back into his room.

“What’d you need?” Yue asked drying his face

“My mom just called, she said my dad’s sick and she need helps back home. It’s only for the weekend.”

“Oh? I hope he gets better”

“He probably will, my mom usually uses these excuses to get me to come down. It’s at a small cottage not too far from town. She always tells me to bring a friend, so you wanna come?”

“Go to your house? Um…” Yue sat on his bed, thinking for a moment

“You wouldn’t have to do anything; it’s actually pretty nice with the field across the river”

“Well I don’t have anything else to do this weekend, I’ll come then, thanks” Yue smiled standing up.

Nick felt relaxed when Yue smiled, again; it was a reoccurring feeling, which Nick wasn’t sure he wanted to welcome.

“Cool, I’ll tell my mom when she calls again, she has a problem with calling too much” Nick chuckled, “We’ll be leaving tomorrow then, ok?”

“Ok”

Once Nick disappeared back downstairs Yue pulled the towel off of his head, his cat ears turned. Yue quickly grabbed his cell phone and dialed

“Damien? I need to talk to Ryu”

“What is it?”

“Such a rude hello. Ryu I need the bracelet or something to hide my ears besides a hat. I can’t stand tucking them down like that” Yue complained, frustrated.

“Fine, fine. I checked it out and nothing seemed to be wrong. If you want to take your chances with it then go ahead.”

“Guess I’ll have to, I’ll pick it up tonight. Alright, bye”

Yue closed his phone and tossed it onto his bed.

Later, after eating dinner and cleaning up, Yue tucked on his hat and left. Half an hour later he knocked on a thick wooden door.

Ryu answered the door and handed Yue the blue bracelet. Yue slipped it onto his wrist and turned the small lock on it.

“Thanks for looking at it. Maybe it was a coincidence with the pain in my wrist.”

“Even if it was just be careful.”

“I will…” Yue trailed off noticing Damien impatiently waiting in the background, a towel around his waist.

“Ha, ha I see you’re busy. I’ll see you guys later” Yue laughed then turned as Ryu was pulled from the door by Damien, who waved goodbye and closed the door.

Yue threw his hat onto one of the small metal shelves and sighed,

“I’m glad to have that off but… I wish I didn’t have to hide my ears at all…” he curled up under his blankets and quickly fell asleep.

After taking a shower and packing Yue grabbed his cell phone and hat, just in case, then met Nick downstairs.

“You ready?” Nick asked, throwing a small bag over his shoulder

“Yah”

“Good then we’re set to go”

Nick unlocked his car and threw both their bags in the back. He slid into the front seat and started the car while Yue got into the passengers seat. After a while Yue fell asleep;

Nick glanced over at him and laughed quietly.

‘Sleeping he looks just like a kid’ Nick pulled over to get some gas; as he stood outside the car Yue awoke from his small nap. He yawned and tried to stretch only to find limited space in the car. He opened the door and got out, stretching he turned in Nick’s direction.

“Nick, I’m gonna go get a snack, you want anything?”

“Huh? Oh you’re awake, nah I’m fine”

“Ok”

Nick watched as Yue practically hopped into the small store inside the gas station.

When they finally parked in a pebbled drive way, a woman hurried outside, a smile taking over her face. She was fairly aged, a few gray strands of hair lingered within her black hair.

“Nicolas, I’m so glad you came to visit me” she wrapped her arms around Nick

“Visit? You asked me to come down and help with dad”

“Oh yes, it seems he’s gotten better since yesterday”

“Of course” Nick rolled his eyes and hugged his mother again, “Its' been a while I guess”

“Well now come in, come in, I’ve got lunch ready for you and your friend.”

“Oh ya, mom this is my roommate, Yue”

“Yue, such a pretty name, I believe that’s Chinese right?”

“Yes ma’am” Yue nodded, “I’m American though”

“Oh, how nice” the woman smiled and lead the two into a small cottage like house.

Though it looked small on the outside, the inside of the house was spacious; the walls were decorated with pictures of various people, most likely family and close friends.

The walls themselves were made mostly from stone and then wood further on.

On a small wooden table four plates were set down along with cups and eating utensils.

“Please sit down boys; father will be down in a moment. I made some stew and bread, Aunt Marie sent me a brand new bread maker for my birthday. Then Uncle…” the mother went on unaware no one was actually listening anymore.

“Mom has a tendency to talk too much. Guess it’s was goes with age” Nick leaned over and whispered to Yue

“She seems very kind”

“All old ladies do” Nick smirked

“Old? I’m old?” Nick turned to his mother, who now stood with her hands on her hips

“Eh heh, heh, well mom… you’re not old you’re just older than us” Nick grinned covering for himself

“Uh huh” his mother rolled her eyes as she served each bowl and plate with stew and bread.

“I hope you’ll like my cooking, I’m not sure what you’d eat” the mother talked to Yue

“I’m sure I’ll love it ma’am”

“Oh such a sweet boy. It warms my heart to know there are still some in the world” she glared at her son then sat down with a smile. Just then an older man walked into the kitchen, his hair was brushed back revealing the wrinkles on his face. He sat down, with a nod at the two boys, he then began eating.

“Honey this is Nick's friend, Yue”

“Uh huh”

Yue helped Nick’s mother clean up in the kitchen while Nick brought their bags upstairs. When he came back down his father instantly began lecturing him. Nick sighed ignoring his dad,

“We’ll have to stay in my old room since the guest room is in the middle of being repainted, again…”

Yue laughed as Nick’s father caught up to him and continued lecturing him into the living room.

“So how long have Nick and you been roommates?”

“About a month I think”

“Oh? Did you know each other before or something?”

“Not really, I was just looking for an apartment and he needed a roommate to help with the rent. Truthfully I don’t know much about him, one of us is usually gone when the other is home. Plus I stay upstairs in my room most of the time” Yue shrugged drying another dish

“Well then, you could use this time to get to better know our son. He’s a sweet child inside, even though he doesn’t seem it” she joked and the two laughed exchanging short stories and comments until all of the dishes were cleaned.

Yue made a small bed on the ground next to Nick’s bed,

“You sure you don’t want the bed?”

“Yah I’m fine on the ground, I’m pretty used to it”

“Ugh” Nick finally gave up on trying to get Yue to sleep on the bed and him on the ground. When the lights finally went out Yue stayed awake, once he heard Nick’s steady breathing, he got up and snuck out.

The moon outside was full again, ‘Damn moon, twice in one freakin’ month!’ Yue cursed in his mind as he finally made it outside.

“So refreshing…” he basked in the pale moonlight then noticed the river not too far from the house. Yue stopped when he remembered; he looked to the other side of the river at a wide field then back at the cottage behind him.

“So it was him who saw me that night… I highly doubt another boy named Nicolas lived here then… funny we should ever meet in the future.” Yue laughed to himself as he made his way around the river and to the field. He removed the blue bracelet and dropped it onto the ground.

He tried to cross his arms, but his breasts seemed to get in the way; finally Yue sat on the ground, annoyed.

“I should be used to this form after all of these years.” He fell onto his back and let the soft light wash over him (her).

Nick rolled over on his side, his leg hung off the bed, he rolled over again, this time falling off of the bed. Nick jumped up and looked around.

“Heh, heh, no one saw luckily…” he rubbed the back of his head then realized Yue was gone.

“Guess he went to the bathroom” Nick turned and looked out the window, “Wow the moon sure is bright tonight” he walked closer to the window then down at the river, its’ waters sparkled under the light, along with something else. Nick’s eyes widened at what he saw and he quickly ran out of the room and downstairs. He didn’t he take the time to slip on a pair of shoes as he made his way outside.

Across the lake in the large green field the same cat woman, though older, lay asleep.

Nick hurried around the river, before he even got to the other side though, the cat woman sat up and looked straight at him. Her eyes seemed different this time, even though he was so far away, he could still notice the differ in color.

‘Maybe it’s not the same girl, which could only mean there’s more than one! Wow she’s so beautiful. Yue’s cuter,’ Nick shocked himself with the thought and quickly shook it from his mind as he slowly walked towards the woman.

Yue sat up when he heard rushed footsteps near him, when he looked he saw Nick coming towards him. Though he felt the urge to run, he couldn’t, Nick’s expression was almost desperate and happy.

‘I doubt there’d be any harm. He couldn’t possibly think it’s me… I hope not’ Yue sat still as Nick slowly approached.

“P-please don’t run away, I’m not gonna hurt you I just… um” Nick stopped and took in the girls’ appearance. Her white hair fell just below her shoulders, her olive skin was the same, but something surprised Nick though. Her eyes were a light brown, but something sat behind that color as well. He didn’t even notice the gray and black pajamas she wore; he was more focused on her eyes.

“What’s your name?”

Yue froze at the question, he quickly thought up a fake name,

“Crystal” he answered in the feminine voice that came with his change

“Wow… your ears, they’re… so cute” Nick smiled, looking somewhat like a kid.

Yue couldn’t help but make a small smile as well.

“I’m Nicolas.”

“I know” the words slipped from Yue’s lips, he mentally slapped himself for it.

“Really?”

“Yah, your mother called you by that name a long time ago didn’t she?” Yue quickly remembered, luckily

“So it was you!? I was worried you were someone different, though that’d be cool too”

The two refreshed each others memory of the night so many years ago.

“I guess I can understand why you disappeared. I’m surprised you’d still be around this place.”

“A coincidence I guess” Yue/Crystal smiled

“I’ve always wondered… what exactly are you? If you’re not human”

“I guess you could say I’m a hybrid-half-breed” Yue/Crystal laughed then continued when he saw Nick’s confused expression, “My mother was a normal human woman, while my father was a sort of hybrid cat man. I don’t know much more than that about them.”

“They died?”

“When I was young, many, many years ago” Yue/Crystal’s face saddened at the thought.

“I’m sorry…” the two sat in silence for a while until Crystal/Yue flinched and covered his/her eye.

“Are you ok?” Nick leaned closer, worried

“I’m fine; something just flew into my eyes is all” Yue/Crystal rubbed her/his eye until the slight sting faded. Yue didn’t notice as he rubbed out his colored contact.

“Is it ok now?”

“Yah” Crystal/Yue looked back at Nick with a small smile.

“Y-your eye…” Nick stared at Crystal’s revealed eye; she looked away covering the purple cat eye.

“It only looks like this… when the moons out. Guess ‘cause cats are naturally night animals”

“Why are you hiding it?” Nick held her chin and turned her face towards his again; “They’re the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen” he smiled

Yue stared into Nick’s hazel orbs, his heart began to speed up and he felt a blush creep over his cheeks.

‘In this form he doesn’t know I’m actually a guy… I can’t… what if he tries to kiss me…!’ Yue panicked. As their faces neared an overwhelming instinct took over Yue, he closed his eyes and allowed their lips to brush over one another. He felt a small pang in his heart as they did, ‘He’s kissing Crystal, not me. So why do I suddenly feel hurt? This is ridiculous’ Yue thought to himself; he pulled away from Nick and stood.

“I’m sorry but I must leave now, then sun is sure to come up soon, and I haven’t yet gone to sleep.”

“Please don’t leave, I’m sorry for kissing you I… just wanted to try it out. I won’t do it again,” Nick apologized, ‘I don’t even think I can’ he thought to himself.

“Please stay a little longer, and leave when I’m asleep?”

Yue/Crystal couldn’t help but sympathize with Nick’s childish expression; he/she sighed and sat back down.

“I suppose I could stay for a while longer. Fall asleep soon though,” ‘Shit if he sees me when the sun rises I’ll be screwed’

Nick fell asleep quickly, on the downside, so did Yue. When he reawoke the sun was already beginning to rise. Yue jumped up, he looked down at Nick’s sleeping form with guilt,

‘He did say to leave when he fell asleep’ Yue shook his head and quickly rushed back around the river and into the small cottage. Without shoes he practically glided over the ground and silently back upstairs. He hurried into the bathroom to figure out a way to hide his revealed eye. Though it no longer had the cat-like slit through the middle of it, Nick would surely realize something.

‘I’m surprised he never noticed my pajamas, maybe he just thought it a coincidence or didn’t remember I was wearing them…’ Yue looked around then noticed something on his pajama shirt.

“My contact…!” he gasped relieved, he washed the colorful contact then placed it back over his lavender eye. He looked in the mirror to make sure it covered his eye only to notice another small problem.

“My bracelet!” Yue panicked as he realized he’d left the bracelet in the field, ‘Jeez just like my last one… though that was more like a charm ribbon than a metal charm…’ his thoughts wandered for a moment until he shook them from his mind.

Yue peered out into the hallway, finding it safe he quickly rushed back into Nick’s old bedroom. He grabbed the hat he had brought and tucked his ears under it.

Once he changed, Yue made his way downstairs. Nick’s mother had already begun to make breakfast; she greeted Yue then returned to her cooking.

“Is Nick still asleep?” the mother asked Yue

“Um no, I think he went to take a walk” Yue thought up an excuse figuring Nick would probably still be sleeping in the field, “I’ll go look for him”

“Thank you so much Yue”

Yue slipped on his shoes and went outside, quickly spotting Nick in the field across the river; he made his way around the waters, to Nick.

“Nick…” Yue kneeled beside the still sleeping man; he nudged his shoulder a few times before Nick finally awoke.

“Morning Yue” Nick sat up and stretched his arms while yawning

“You have a fun time sleeping on the ground?”

“I’d imagine it felt the same as your sleeping on the floor… fine I guess”

“Heh, well I’m glad. Your mother’s making breakfast”

“Yue…?” Nick looked into the horizon of the field

“Yah?”

Nick turned to look at Yue, out of nowhere Nick grabbed Yue and turned him on his back. Nick sat on top of him looking down.

“Nick!?” Yue looked up at the dark haired man, shocked, his heartbeat quickened as Nick leaned closer. Nick planted a quick kiss over Yue’s lips then rolled off of him.

“Just as I thought” Nick said to himself before getting up.

Yue laid there for a moment, stunned, ‘He knew I was a guy then. Has he figured out that I’m Crystal? Does he think I’m actually a girl!? Even if he knew I was her he said he wouldn’t do that again!’

“You coming to eat breakfast or not?” Nick held out a hand

Yue looked at him, wide-eyed, his face still red.

“Ha, ha you’re so cute” Nick smirked, “Come on, if we don’t get there before my dad does, he’ll eat everything”

Yue took Nick’s hand and got up.

Yue offered to help clean up again but Nick pulled Yue away,

“Mother I’m taking Yue over to the field for a while. I’m sure he’d like it a lot better than cleaning”

“Of course he will. The field is beautiful this time of year, everything’s in full blossom” Nick’s mother began talking, mostly to herself, as the two slipped their shoes back on and went back over to the field.

“You know my little sister and I used to fly our kites here every time she would visit. That’s until she moved to Australia for some school study thing”

“Sounds fun, going to Australia, I’d love to travel somewhere sometime” Yue partly daydreamed as he followed Nick further out into the vast land. Soon trees grew more until they were in a half forest type of area.

“Should we really be traveling this far out?” Yue asked uncertain

“It’s fine, I know my way back. I just wanna show you something” Nick bushed a few low branches aside until finally stopping. Yue looked out at the smaller field, tall trees made a circle around it. Various colors of flowers bloomed from the ground.

“Wow, this is probably the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen!” Yue walked out into the field, his face washed over in a joyful look.

Nick watched as Yue took in everything around him, he leaned against a tree, relaxation flooded threw him.

Yue stepped by a bush of bright pink flowers, to his surprise the flowers quickly fluttered into the sky, butterflies. He fell to his knees in awe and watched as the hundreds of butterflies flew around in a hurry.

Nick’s eyes opened more as he looked at Yue; butterflies flew around him, the wind decided to begin to blow as well. Yue’s white hair brushed forward then back, Yue just stared, dazed. Nick imagined a pair of white cat ears on Yue’s head, without his hat, and nearly choked.

The image of ‘Crystal’ appeared in his mind,

‘Now that I think of it wasn’t Crystal wearing the same type of pajamas Yue was that night? And their hair… and skin… it seems too alike. It’s kind of creepy. What if…’ Nick thought to himself shocked, ‘She did say her mother was human…’

Yue closed his eyes as the wind and sunlight wrapped around him.

‘I’m lucky my hat has stayed on the whole time, especially when Nick had suddenly pulled me to the ground. Why’d he do that? Has he figured me out? No, he would’ve said something by now wouldn’t he? Is that why he brought me out here?’

Yue looked over at Nick, who only smiled and waved.

Once he was finally satisfied with sitting in the field, Yue walked back over to Nick only to have Nick bring him back out into the field. The two sat in the shadow of a tall tree.

“I see you liked what I had to show you”

“Yah, it was beautiful. I was surprised to find out that some of the flowers were actually butterflies.” Yue laughed innocently.

“I’ve never seen this side of you, it’s pretty cute” Nick looked at Yue, from the corner of his eye.

“You haven’t known me very long, so it shouldn’t be that surprising” Yue finished laughing and looked over at Nick.

“When you first told me about coming here you made it sound as if you didn’t like coming here. Don’t you?”

“I like it here… it’s just I’m not fond of coming every time my mom chooses to use something and lure me out here.”

“Ooh” Yue closed his eyes and leaned back against the tree. His eyes shot opened as he felt Nick sit on top of his legs.

“W-what are you doing?”

“I found this is the field earlier today, before we went in for breakfast.” Nick held up Yue’s blue metal bracelet

‘Shit’ Yue cursed in his mind upon seeing the bracelet

“Y’know, last night I went outside. There was a girl; she looked almost exactly like you, except for a few differences. How much do you know about your parents Yue?”

Thinking Nick had figured out the connection between ‘Crystal’ and Yue, he was confused at the question.

“Not much”

Nick leaned in closer to Yue as he put one arm on each side of his, against the tree.

“I think there’s a possibility that the girl I met is related to you. I know this might sound crazy but just listen. The girl I met had cat ears on the top of her head, they were really cute, and real, no doubt in my mind about it. She had long white hair, like yours, and olive skin. The only difference was that she was a girl and she also had bright purple eyes. She said they only got like that during a full moon though. She said her mother was a human and her father was a cat like man. I think you two have the same mothers.” Nick looked into Yue’s ‘brown’ eyes with a serious expression.

Yue tried to hold back but couldn’t stop the laugh crawling up his throat; he burst out and tried to cover his mouth to quiet down.

“I’m serious!” Nick puffed crossing his arms

“I-I know you are, ha, ha, ha, I’m sorry…” Yue finally calmed his laughing and thought to himself, ‘He’s not stupid but he’s not as smart as I feared, luckily. Then again what human would figure my secret out.’

“Nick… could I have my bracelet please?” Yue asked, holding out his hand

“No. You’re laughing at me”

“I’m not laughing anymore”

“You laughed at me”

“I’m sorry” Yue tried not to laugh at Nick’s child-like pout but a smile still slipped out.

“See you’re making fun of me” Nick jumped up

“I-I’m s-sorry” Yue began laughing again and got up

Nick swung the bracelet on his finger and smirked,

“I’ll only give this back to you if you can catch me” with that he turned and ran into the tree-guarded-field. Yue, stood for a moment, and then quickly ran after Nick.

The twos’ laughter echoed into the small forest until Yue finally tackled Nick on his back.

“Whelp guess you caught me” Nick sighed and held out the bracelet; as Yue went to take it Nick surprised him by rolling over, ending Yue on his back.

“Unless I caught you” Nick laughed twirling the bracelet on his finger, teasing Yue with it.

Yue finally gripped onto the bracelet, he pulled it down, pulling Nick along with it.

“I caught you first, so give me the bra--” Yue’s words were cut off as Nick put his lips to Yue’s. Yue felt the small urge to pull away but at the same time couldn’t hold back from deepening the kiss. Though Nick was the one to slip his tongue into Yue’s mouth, deepening the kiss.

Nick put his hand under Yue’s neck, pulling his mouth closer, and lifting his head slightly from the ground.

As Nick’s hand lifted Yue’s neck his hat slipped off, Yue didn’t notice though, while Nick’s other hand dropped the bracelet and began traveling over Yue’s toned chest.

Nick rolled over again, so that Yue sat on top. As their lips parted Nick looked up at Yue. Yue smiled, a small blush over his cheeks; Nick’s eyes widened, for about the second time that hour, as he noticed the snow-white-cat-like ears.

“Where did those come from?” Nick stared at the ears atop Yue’s head.

Yue froze and has spotted his hat on the ground next to Nick.

“You HAVE to be related to Crystal!” Nick sat up, Yue still on his lap, dazed.

“Yue…? But wait, I’ve seen your without a hat before, you never had ears. Yue what’s with the sudden cat ears?”

Yue looked at Nick, still unmoving,

“My ears…” Yue looked at his bracelet, on the ground; he quickly picked it up and slipped it over his wrist, locking it. His ears disappeared and human ears took their place on the side, once again.

“T-they’re gone!” Nick scooted back, causing Yue to sit on the ground.

“Guess I can’t hide it any longer…” Yue finally broke from his daze and looked back up at Nick, “This bracelet is a type of charm; it hides my ears and forms fake human ears. And my eyes…” Yue carefully removed the contacts, “Brown contacts” he looked at Nick with his lavender orbs and gave a small smile.

“And that’s not all, Crystal, she isn’t my sister. She’s me. During full moons I tend to change form, I become a woman, and my eyes become more like a natural cats. This is a lot to comprehend I know… and I’m sorry, for lying to you. You have to understand why though.”

The two sat there in silence for a long moment. Nick shifted in his position and sighed, finally breaking the silence,

“It’s getting late” Nick stood up, stretching

“Nick?” Yue looked up at Nick’s calm, normal, expression

“Though it’s hard to believe, I guess I’ll have to. Though the surprise of seeing a girl who has cat ears, still hasn’t worn off. Finding out she’s actually a guy, and everything that follows, it’s still confusing but…”

“Did you rather I was a girl?” Yue looked down, ashamed of his question, and hurt.

Nick kneeled down and turned Yue’s face to his,

“Though the girl was beautiful, you are a lot cuter. I kissed her, not knowing it was you, and I didn’t feel anything. Then I kissed you the next morning and it was a lot better, even if you didn’t kiss me back. I really like you, Yue. I’m not embarrassed to say that I like a guy. You’re not an ordinary guy; I just might start to love you.”

“So you’re not afraid or disgusted?”

“Nothing of the kind, not by you at least. In truth you should actually be wary of me now.”

“Wary of you? Why?” Yue asked innocently

“Because I won’t be able to hold back, from pouncing on you, much longer” Nick smirked, helping Yue up.

“You’re already letting your guard down too much” Nick whispered into his ear as they began to walk back to the cottage home.

The two waved goodbye to Nick’s parents then drove off, back home. The whole way back Yue had to keep an eye on Nick, since every time he’d look away Nick’s hand would find its way onto Yue’s thigh.

Once the two returned home Yue unpacked then fell asleep on his bed. The bright sun woke him up the next morning as its rays landed over his eyes. Yue stretched and headed towards his bathroom.

While he was in the middle of brushing his teeth Nick knocked on the door; Yue opened the door and looked at Nick, his toothbrush sticking out of his mouth.

“Phone’s for you” Nick held up the wireless phone. Yue turned and spit in the sink then turned and took the phone, as he did Nick slipped a small peck. He licked his lips,

“Minty” Nick smirked walking back downstairs.

“Hello?” Yue answered the phone, still watching Nick’s retreating back

“Yue? Why didn’t you answer your cell phone?” Damien’s voice sounded on the other end

“Sorry, I was busy brushing my teeth. Why are you calling so early in the morning?”

“Ryu and I are going out of town for a while. I just wanted to let you know, and also, I’ll need you to come by once in a while, to feed the birds and all”

“Why are you two going out of town?”

“It’s our anniversary, of course” Damien laughed on the other end

“Which one, wait, no, don’t even answer that. I’ll come by every other day. When are you leaving?”

“Actually we already left, we’re in Paris. So I’ll need you to start going today. I’ve gotta go, bye kitten!” Damien hung up with a giggle

“No doubt they were already in the middle of something…” Yue rolled his eyes and finished brushing his teeth.

Yue turned the faucet and stepped into the, slowly warming, shower. His washed his hair, relieved each time his hands brushed over his normal white ears. Yue didn’t notice someone coming into the bathroom with him.

Quietly Nick opened the foggy shower door and slipped in behind Yue. He stepped closer and slid his arms around Yue’s waist. Feeling Yue jumped under his touch caused him to smile deviously. He began kissing Yue’s shoulder then rested his chin against the nape of his neck.

“You’re so soft Yue” Nick commented nuzzling him

“W-what the hell are you doing in here?” Yue stuttered as Nick caressed his torso

“Taking a shower of course”

“This isn’t how you take a shower” Yue’s face grew red as Nick’s hands felt lower. Yue pulled away and turned to look at Nick only to quickly turn back around.

“G-get out”

‘He’s red as a tomato. He’s so freakin’ innocent even though his adoptive parents are gay. Has he really never been exposed to this type of intimacy before?’ Nick smirked at the thought.

“So you’re still a virgin?” he licked Yue’s earlobe with a light chuckle. His breath caressing Yue’s skin, causing him to shiver.

“Well… are you?” Nick began nibbling on Yue’s earlobe

“No. I’m as innocent as you think Nic-o-las” Yue quickly answered, ignoring Nick’s nibbling, he returned to washing himself.

“Well then…” Nick wrapped his arms around Yue and slowly lowered them.

Yue jumped and squeaked when Nick grabbed him.

“Then show me how un-innocent you are, Yue

“I-I h-have to go…” Yue freed himself and quickly got out. Nick chuckled as he watched Yue’s form rustle around and leave, nearly tripping, from the bathroom.

Yue quickly dried off and changed, his blush slowly fading. He locked the bracelet onto his wrist and slipped on his shoes.

Nick dried his hair; just as he opened the bathroom door he heard Yue closed the front door. His expression fell with guilt as he returned to his room.

‘After so many years of obsessing over a girl I had hoped I didn’t dream up… I wonder why he turns into a girl like that… this is all still so odd. And yet, I can’t help myself from wanting to jump on top of him.’ Nick laughed to himself at the thought, ‘He’s so cute.’

Yue gave the front door handle an experimental twist, only to find it unlocked.

“How irresponsible,” Yue sighed stepping into the large house; he breathed in and memories of his long childhood rushed through and out.

Once he fed the many birds and fish, in the wide backyard; Yue snooped through the fridge, not finding anything good, he closed the fridge and grabbed the spare key Damien notably left for him, with a not under it.

Yue take this key for the house. Please lock the door on your way out.

-Damien

Yue tossed the note in the trash and left. But instead of heading to the bus stop, and back to his apartment, Yue turned down a different street.

When Yue returned there was a difference in his appearance. He slipped off his shoes and walked up to his room. Before Yue could remove his bracelet he noticed something odd, he wasn’t alone. He turned to see Nick leaning against the doorframe of his room.

“Where’d you run off to so quickly? Did I embarrass you that much?” Nick smiled playfully then took in Yue’s full appearance, “Your hair… why’d you cut it?”

Yue’s hair now sat just below his chin, with a few strands longer than the others.

“I dunno” Yue shrugged

“It suits you” Nick stepped into the room, “So that’s what you went to do?”

“No, I had to go take care of Damien and Ryu’s’ animals for them. They’re out of town for a while.”

“Oh” Nick only half listened as he took small steps towards Yue. Once he was close enough, Nick grabbed Yue and the two fell onto the blue blanketed bed.

Yue didn’t struggle as Nick’s hands slid under his shirt. Their lips met for a brief moment until Nick pulled away.

“Come on, I wanna show you something” Nick got off the bed and waited for Yue to follow.

“Again?” Yue slid off the bed and followed Nick back downstairs, towards his own room.

“Ever since the night when I first saw that girl, or you, I couldn’t get it out of my mind.” Nick opened his door and the two stepped in. Yue looked at the picture covered walls,

All of the pictures had something to do with him, in his female form. There were sketches of his eyes, lips, his full face, and more.

“The next day I was in the field with my cousin, when my kite fell I happened to find a blue ribbon on the ground. In the exact place you had been sitting”

Nick opened a drawer from his dresser and pulled a small ribbon out. Yue looked at it surprised then laughed softly,

“That’s my old charm; it works kind of like this bracelet does.” Yue lifted his wrist and unlocked the bracelet.

Nick watched as Yue’s human ears disappeared and his white cat ears reappeared on his head.

“I had taken it off that night and forgot it when I ran. Just like this one, the other day. I freaked out a little when you told me you found it; I thought you had figured out my secret. Either way, you did, I guess” Yue hummed thinking to himself, about the field.

Nick took the bracelet from Yue and set both the ribbon and the metal charm on his dresser. He took Yue’s hand and pulled him closer; once Yue’s body was against his own he whispered,

“I’m a virgin still too. With a guy at least”

Yue pulled his head away and looked a Nick. Both their faces carried small blushes.

“I kept thinking about her, I was fixated on the fact of whether she was real or not. Then the day I met you, slowly thoughts of you took over. Even after I met her again, I couldn’t get you out of my mind.” Nick smiled, running his fingers through Yue’s new hairstyle.

Yue thought for a moment then abruptly, he pulled Nick’s face closer and kissed him. This time Yue was the one to slip his tongue into Nick’s mouth and deepen the kiss. Nick welcomed the kiss, but lost his balance in the sudden movement. The two luckily fell onto Nick’s bed, both smiling; their tongues sliding over the others.

Nick pulled off Yue’s shirt, his lips quickly attaching themselves to Yue’s tanned skin. He bit softly onto Yue’s neck causing a moan to emit from the cat-like boys’ lips. Nick rolled over so that Yue was on the bottom, giving him easier access to the slim body. Yue pulled Nick’s lips to his once again, while he did so, Nick’s hand began to wander lower. Yue’s heartbeat quickened as Nick’s hand fell lower, soon unbuttoning his pants. Yue tightened his grip around Nick’s neck; a small ‘eep’ escaped his lips as Nick stroked his inner thigh, teasing him.

Nick’s tongue slid down Yue’s chest and stopped just below his belly button,

“S…stop…” Yue breathed out; Nick smirked and looked up at him,

“Stop what?”

“Stop teasing me” Yue glared at Nick, who only laughed in response. His breath blew over Yue causing another moan to escape him.

Nick sat up, still smirking,

“Ok then, I guess I’ll stop” he shrugged, a smile never leaving his face as he stood.

Yue sat up shocked,

“What?”

“You told me to stop”

Yue looked at Nick with wide eyes; then a thought popped into his head,

‘If he wants to play games…’ Yue shrugged and buttoned his pants back up.

“Ok then, guess I’ll go back up to my room and take a nap” Yue hid his smirked as he took up his shirt and walked out of the room. Nick stood for a moment, confused at what had just happened.

“W-wait!” Yue turned to Nick’s voice, an eyebrow quirked

“Yah?”

“Y-you can’t just go, I was, you…” Nick’s tongue twisted as he rushed his words

“You stopped, I might as well go back up to my room” Yue turned on his heel and walked back upstairs.

A few hours later Yue came back down and began making dinner. Once Nick finally came out of his room again Yue pretended to ignore him, he handed Nick a bowel of noodle soup. The two ate in silence, the whole time thinking of the other.

Yue finished washing the dishes; even after he had started paying rent he still cooked and cleaned most of the time. Nick seemed too lazy to clean up after himself and Yue didn’t want the apartment to look as trashed as it did before he moved in.

Yue grabbed a towel from upstairs and headed towards the largest bathroom for another shower, before he got ready to go to bed.

He stepped under the falling waters and smiled mentally. After washing his hair he stood under the warm waters for a moment, relaxing. This time when Nick snuck into the bathroom, Yue noticed, he turned his back, pretending he didn’t notice anything.

Nick quickly undressed and, as quietly as he could, he opened the shower door and stepped it. He reached for Yue only to be pulled and gently pinned against the tile wall.

Yue smirked, having the upper hand,

“You’re not as quiet as you think, little boy”

“Me? Little? I’m older than you”

“I’m not as young as you think” Yue snickered

Before Nick could ask anything his mouth became occupied by Yue’s. Nick exhaled as Yue’s lips traveled down his neck and onto Nick’s collarbone. Nick’s breathing increased as Yue’s tongue slid across his chest.

Yue’s smirked grew as squirmed slightly, Yue decided to do to Nick what Nick did to him earlier. Revenge.

Yue lowered his lips; he stopped just above Nick’s throbbing self.

“This… isn’t… fair… Yu-Yue”

“Yes it is” Yue pulled away and grabbed a bottle of liquid soap. He began washing his body, before he pruned too much.

Nick looked at the cat boy, overwhelmed. He took the soap from Yue’s hands and poured some onto his own hand. He pushed up against Yue’s back and wrapped his arms around the thin man; slowly he rubbed the liquid soap over the olive colored skin.

Yue allowed Nick to wash his torso as he, himself, washed his arms. Not paying much attention anymore, Yue bent over to wash his legs, but quickly stood up straight once he felt the extra pressure against his lower backside. His head accidentally bumping Nick’s face; Nick let go of Yue, covering his face.

“Oh crap, I’m sorry” Yue turned around; he moved Nick’s hands to make sure there was no blood. Nick smiled and stole a quick kiss. Yue rolled his eyes and returned to washing the soapy suds from his body.

Nick used Yue’s waist to turn him back around and pull him closer.

“No more games. I’ve never felt like this about anyone, Yue. I can’t stand it when you’re not in my arms. I want to be with you, and only you. Not Crystal, not anyone else.” Nick finished, kissing Yue’s shoulder.

Yue smiled and looked at Nick,

“I like being in your arms, Nicolas” Yue wrapped his arms around Nick and the two stood there for a second.

Yue rested his head on Nick’s chest, while Nick rested his chin on Yue’s head. He pulled the covers up to his chin and smiled, kissing Nick’s chest. Yue purred as Nick scratched the back of his snow-white ears.

“Yue?”

“Hmm?”

“What’d you mean in the shower, when you said you’re not as young as I think?”

Yue looked up at Nick then sat up.

“Truthfully I’m not 19; I’m nowhere near that age. I don’t remember how old I am exactly; I’ve been alive for quiet some time now. When I first met Damien and Ryu I think I was about 62.”

Nick looked at him confused,

“Then how did you grow from a child to this…?”

“It’s a bit complicated. When I was born I grew like a regular human grows. When I was about 6 I stopped growing. Years passed by quickly, a few months before you first saw me I had began growing like a normal human does, again. I’ll probably stop ageing again in a few years, but I’m not sure. For all I know I could keep ageing regularly from now on.”

“So how old do you think you are?”

“Maybe 870? I’m not sure anymore” Yue watched Nick for a reaction.

After a few seconds Nick chuckled,

“Wow, that certainly does make me seem like a little boy, compare to you. Little or not, I’m still the more experienced one?” Nicked laughed, rolling Yue on top of him.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Yue glared, his hands resting on his hips.

“Heh, nothing at all…” Nick stroked Yue’s waistline then sat up, leaning closer to Yue’s ear, he whispered

“I’m glad I was your first”

Though it’s not as lovey dovey as the first one I defiantly worked my ass off with this sequel. I’m pretty proud of it, 24 pages, I’m happy with this one. I like the small change I made, sorry if this sounds like gloating, I guess it kind of is; it’s been so long since I’ve taken some time on a story, more like two-three day, but still. I hope that anyone who reads this likes it; also if you find any mistakes or something I could change, like using a word too much, please comment and tell me. Tell me things I could fix on the first ‘With You’ too please, if you have time. Thanks for reading this
