Author's Note: Haven't updated in awhile...the inspiration is kinda fading away...but yeah...hopefully I'll get that spark soon. -sigh- The chapter isn't all that great, you could call it a filler. Next chapter will be up as soon as possible, just give me some time to think of new ideas. :)
Kiana's POV (Point of view)
The day before Lyzza's POV
Welcome to the AOL Network, KikiLuvsTennis14! 7 people are currently signed in on your buddy list.
Kiana read through the names on her list. PuppyEyes01, RedHead023, OliverH2385, FreddyVSJasonxxx, hateNlove3329, Jojo88, and FootBallIsMyThang. Aww, no Lyzza, she thought, a bit disappointed She double clicked on May-Lynn's screen name and a box came up.

Kiana exited the box and was about to sign off when another box came up, the alert noise making Kiana jump in her seat. She still wasn't used to that noise, every time she almost fell out of her chair like the sky was falling. She straightened up and began to read the message.
NoNamePlease99: Yo, is this Kiana Makier, that Hawaiian, big boobed chick?
Kiana read the message over again. So now she was labeled as the Hawaiian, big boobed chick? And who was this person anyway? Probably someone from school. She typed her reply.
KikiLuvsTennis14: Who is this?
NoNamePlease6:
Just tell me, are you Kiana or not? I need to talk to her
(you?).
KikiLuvsTennis14:
Yes, but tell me who you are.
NoNamePlease6:
Well, just let me get to the point first, then I'll tell you.
NoNamePlease6:
You're friends with Elyzza Oliver, right? That punk with the
green hair or whatever?
KikiLuvsTennis14:
Yeah...but why should I be discussing this with you...?
NoNamePlease6:
Ok, OK! Just listen! Tomorrow after lunch, sneak in the girls
bathroom next to the gym without Elyzza knowing and hide in there.
KikiLuvsTennis14: Isn't that the bathroom where drugs and that crap are sold?
And why would I want hide in there? Why can't Lyz know?
NoNamePlease6:
Don't question it, just do it. Get that nerd you hang around
with to go with ya. Hide in the stalls and listen well.
KikiLuvsTennis14:
But...why?
NoNamePlease6:
Just trust me, ok? Bye.
KikiLuvsTennis14:
WAIT! Who are you?

Kiana gasped. She still didn't know who this mystery person was! She stubbornly typed away, trying to avoid the fact that the person had signed off and her rambling would be worthless.

Kiana finally gave up, knowing that he or she was truly gone. So many questions rumbled in her head, itching for answers that Kiana did not have. She scrolled up to the word File at the top of the box and clicked on it, a list of other options rolling down. She pressed Save and titled the chat 'Mystery Chat', then closed out.
"This is so screwed up.." Kiana thought aloud as she closed each chat box. Instead of signing out, she put up an away message this time so if the mystery person signed back on, they could contact her. The message read:
At Dairy Queen with Lynn and Char. Call the cell and I'll get back to ya. 253-3757
Kisses, Kiki
As soon as she clicked 'ok' and the away message was set, a loud honk bellowed into her room. Kiana scrambled to her feet, knowing that Lynn had arrived, and raced to her bedroom door, grabbing her purse on her way out. As she was about to head out the door, she felt someone grip her wrist. Twirling around, Kiana faced her mother. Her brow was ruffled and her eyes were squinted, and she pulled Kiana away from the door.
"Kiana, were YOU think you going?" She asked in the best English she knew. They had only moved here to America 2 years ago, and her mother was too stubborn to learn proper English, making her sentences choppy. Kiana eyed her mother furiously. Since when did she care?
"Out." She meerly said, turning back to the door, but her mother's grip just tightened. It was starting to hurt.
"Ma! Let GO!" She tucked her purse up onto her shoulder with her free hand and then clasped it over her wrist, trying to pull free. Her mother showed no mercy, just tightening and twisting upwards. Her face also made no expression, her lips sealed tight. Kiana let out a sharp scream, the pain in her wrist growing. She swore it was turning purple. She slowing sank to the ground, pulling her mother down with her. Closing her eyes, she gave up trying to pull free.
"Look me in the eyes, Kiana!" Her mother yelled. Kiana burst her eyes open, but instead of looking into her mother's, she just looked up and down, or where ever her mother's eyes weren't. Her mother twisted again, causing Kiana's eyes to immediately reach hers.
"You not going with your friends no more, I want you at home now on. I am not letting you out of sight, not after you go with boy I say not to. No trust, no leaving! Understand?!" Her mother paused, looking at her with a glare in her eyes. Kiana just snarled. She wasn't going to let her mother over power her life. Freedom flowed in her veins and not matter what her mother did to keep her nailed down, she would always find a way to escape. And this whole pain thing was only to scare Kiana, make her afraid of her punishments, but that wasn't going to happen. With all the energy left in her, she quickly stood up, taking her mother by surprise. She lost hold of her wrist, just like Kiana hoped she would, and she ran free out the door. Her mother began shouting out every nasty word she could think of in Hawaiian as Kiana ran towards Lynn's car. She didn't dare look back, but she motioned for Lynn to open the SUV's passenger door. Lynn's jaw looked like it was going to hit the ground, but she obeyed, twisting the inside car handle and flinging it open. Kiana hopped it, slammed it closed, and ordered for Lynn to drive. Yet again, Lynn said nothing, just obeyed.
As the SUV tore out of the driveway, Kiana glanced at her mother. She just spat to the side of her and charged back in the house, slamming the door closed. Kiana had no idea what would happen once she went back in there after the trip to DQ, if her mother would ever even let her in. She sighed, slumping down in the car seat, rubbing her wrist.
"Kiki?" Lynn muttered, turning from the watching the road to her, then back again. Her eyes looked like they were going to plop out of her eye sockets. Kiana almost hoped they would, she needed a good laugh. Suddenly, Charlotte, who was in the back seat, exploded in shrieks.
"OH MY GOSH! That was soooooo funnnny! You was like runnin, and your momma was like yellin and you was all like DRIIIIVE and like Lynny was like AHHHH and I was like WOOOOAH!!! IT WAS SOOO COOOOL-O!!!" She said it all so quickly, Kiana only catching a few word, but she hoped she'd shut up soon. All she wanted was them to pretend it never happened, but listening to the hyperness in Charlotte's voice, it seemed she'd never forget.
Lynn gave a dirty glare to Charlotte, giving off an expression that seemed to say 'shut-up-or-die', but in a much nicer, Lynn-ish way. She then gave Kiana the 'let's-talk-later-in-private' look, in which Kiana nodded back to. She pulled on her seat belt as the headed through town towards DQ.
Later that evening

Kiana didn't have the time to read through the list of screen names this evening. She was in a hurry with more important things to do. Dragging her mouse over to the icon that looked like an E on her desktop, she doubled clicked on it. A large browser came up, in the corner reading Internet Explorer. She searched around until she reached her e-mail. Composing a new message, this is what it read:
To: BreakingTheCode at BHS
From: CoconutKiki at BHS (author's note: FP wouldn't let me type in the real e-mail addresses, I guess cause they think I'd be spamming, but they are just made up e-mails. So after each BHS, there is suppossed to be a dot, then com)
Subject: AOL Chat, IMPORTANT!
(this message contains chat-speak cuz I am in a hurry so I hope u can understand it. If Ma finds me using this computer, uh oh. So don't reply, just read it N we'll talk at school, k?)
May-Lynn, I forgot 2 tell u about something when we were DQ. I was so wrapped up in what happened with my Ma, it slipped my mind. (btw, I'm fine. She let me inside, but didn't say anything except I'm grounded from the computer. She's hiding something, I know it. That, or she feels sorry for me, which I doubt.) Some1 IMed me after u signed off. Here is the convo:

Totally creepy, eh? I don't know if we should do it or not. Meet me at the flag pole outside of the school tomorrow morning around 7 N we'll talk.
GTG, I can hear Ma coming down the hall.
LYLAS, Kiki
Kiana clicked send, then closed out of the browser. She set the computer into sleep mode, hoping her mother wouldn't notice the green light on the computer flashing, clearly stating it was still on. She flopped onto her bed, grabbed a book and opened it to a random page just before her door came flying open. Instead of her mother standing in the doorway, it was someone she least expected. Seriously.
"Coconut!" Kiana laughed, seeing her huge, fluffy cat come through the door. Coconut was the most stubborn, stuck up cat you'd ever meet. Nothing could get in her way, meaning Kiana's closed door. She just prowled across the floor, her nose up in the air and over to Kiana's window seat, where she made herself comfortable for her 6 PM squirrel watch. Kiana giggled and gave her neck a scratch before closing the door and sitting back in front of her computer. She restarted AOL. Lynn was on, thank God, but she was away. She looked up at her profile and read the message.
Chores, please call the home phone and I promise to talk! The number is: 274-9052 Thank you!
She sighed, signing back out and shutting down the computer. She very well knew that once Lynn was doing her chores, she never had time to talk even if she said she did. She considered the chores "fun". Typical Lynn. It was only 6 o'clock and she was tired as hell, but was not ready to sleep. Kiana scooted her chair away from the desk and went over to her dresser, deciding to work on some unfinished homework from Biology. She opened the top drawer and papers came flinging out. She groaned.
"Aw crap." She muttered under her breath, scrawling down to stuff the papers back into the drawer. But as she was grabbing the papers, something colorful caught her eye and she scooped it up. It was a collage of pictures from a scrapbook the three friends had started but had yet to finish. It was from when Lynn, Lyzza, and herself had gone to one of the city carnivals together. She smiled at it, remembering every detail of the pictures. The first top two were of Lynn. She was standing in line to a huge ferris wheel in one, her baby blue eyes shimmering with both excitement and fear behind her thin, silver glasses (her mother made her tie a chain from side to side and put it around her neck so if they fell off, she wouldn't lose them. Lynn was so embarrassed.), and in the other she was sitting at the top of the wheel, her face paler than ever and her glasses hanging around her neck (Thank god for her mother's idea! It actually came in use for once!). Kiana giggled, remember how the huge wheel had gotten stuck and Lynn was stuck up there for more than half an hour. She then looked over at the next few pictures of Lyzza. All four of them were snaps of her in the bumper cars. She always would pick the red one, number 99. It was the one that 'kicked metal ass', she said. Each picture you could see Elyzza smashing the crap out of other cars, most of them little kids...and Lynn (yet again her glasses hung around her neck. Thank you Mom!). Kiana laughed at the one of Lyzza standing with one foot atop her red '99' car, her arms stretching high in the air. All around her were scattered cars with little kids crying in them. 'Victory!' was scribbled next to the picture. Kiana giggled before reaching the middle picture, featuring all three of the friends. They were on a small merry-go-round with smiles bigger than ever. She laughed out loud once more and studied the picture. The merry-go-round was defiantly meant for younger children, she could tell. Even sitting down on the little horses, the tops of their heads still touched the ceiling. Underneath the picture, it had a poem Lynn had written. It read:
No
matter how big
No
matter how old
We'll
stick together
Like
any good friends should
LET'S
RIDE THE MERRY-GO-ROUND AGAIN GALS!
Lyzza had scribbled the last part on it when Lynn wasn't looking, making her very angry. Kiana laughed and stuffed the rest of the papers into her drawer, totally forgetting the homework she was about to do. Still staring at the collage, she plopped onto her bed and turned on her lamp, the dim light only brightening what she held in her hands. She looked it over again and again until her eyelids could no longer stay open. The page fell to her side as her lids finally shut, and was pushed to the ground as her ceiling fan twirled in circles above her.
