A day packed with fun

Many drink consumed

We were at our best

The next hours were not assumed

Alone at last

Safe between the sheets

You broke your silence

Of all you hits and beats

Then came the last stitch

Blood free flowing wound

Of a well hidden secret

My breaths didn’t make a sound

My heart ceased to beat

Fear flew through me

Of the truth you took so long to share

A truth I didn’t want to see

You’re never truly happy

In any aspect of life

I think of what I do wrong

I am the one holding the knife?

A year ago your life was meaningless

So close you came

To letting the pain consume you

Things could not be the same

No, now they will be better

You won’t feel the pain anymore

When we move in together

You’re going to throw the pain out the door

The past is exactly what it is

Something that can’t touch you

Let my love ease your pain

And start your life anew

A/N: Some people ask “But what is the secret?” others say I have said it and if you knew the people that the poem is based on you would know what you are talking about. I was told this secret; I told no one else, because it was personal. If they told others, that was their choice. I never said a thing. I don’t believe I did in this poem either.
