The forecast told me icy rain, our umbrellas and raincoats all ready

But when we got to that mystical beach, all I saw was the golden light

That streaked down from the breaking clouds

Breaking the cold wet barriers that held it back

As I stood on the beach holding your hand

Just looking out into crystal expanses of salt and spray

Don’t you remember the light hitting us that day

Bathing us in that great glow before anything else

How I looked at you and saw the sun reflecting in your eyes

Dulling the brown and bringing out that azure green

That shines brighter than any emerald on the Earth

And we could hear the music playing from the car of another

Who I know shared our thoughts on that day

For all the shit that life can throw at you, it’s times like these that make it all worth it Times where its just you and me

The ocean and the sun

Together
