The effervescing moonlight plays tricks on the imaginations

Of all the inhabitants of this wide earth.

The depth of our vast knowledge is nothing

But the smallest crease on the ocean of belief.

As the moon’s glance causes ominous shadows,

These devious, delusions cast dreams into the dark, dank abyss.

We are nothing more than creatures locked in a battle of wit with the universe.

Will we win the epic, mental toil or will our kind drown into the vast expanse?

Unable to operate due to the lack of wisdom we have become.

More and more we lose what we have truly learned.

Manners, respect, love of life,

All these teachings are lost as the media

Controls every fiber of our being.

I long for sanity to return, but my hopes are crushed

As I look upon the world’s most yet least intelligent creatures.

We have damned ourselves to hell for the pleasures we desire.

I crawl into the corner and weep

For all that we were, all that we are, and all that we will become.

For if we continue on this ever moving, downward spiral

We will cause our own fall into darkness and our own death.

Because we think of only what we want,

Not for others, nor the world, nothing but ourselves.

Media has wrapped us around its finger

And because we aren’t smart enough: we let them.

When will we learn?

When will we stand up for ourselves?

When will we stand up others?

The way the world is and will be

Will bring death to the way the world was, is, and ourselves.
