AN- ok then. Was browsing through the religion poems section out of pure bordom, and saw some very....interesting viewpoints. Hence the poem. Frankly, I'm not pleased with it, but eh. The formatting was harder to figure out then usual.
Here's the thing, though. I did NOT mean for this poem to come across as offensive or whatever. It's kinda a vague poem, admittedly, but my purpose on writting it was to explain my views, not make fun of others. I have nothing but respect for those who do follow some sort of religion or god. On that note, feel free to opinionate away in your reviews; just know that I love a good debate and might just e-mail you back. n.n
Peaceful lies (are still lies).
This is not to say
that those rules apply to everyone.
For some,
That passion works.
But not for all.
And that’s when it becomes
an endless game,
--Push-pull, push-pull--
to force a connection
That isn’t there.
For some—
There is blood,
d r i p p i n g,
everywhere you look,
(but pretend you don’t see it.
After all, you might have
caused it.)
You wonder why it all seems so
c l e a r
to you.
(Half)hidden hypocrisy,
double-entendre meanings
that apply to you—
if you’re lucky.
Country-club exclusive,
shrouded in the garb
of open doors and welcome spaces.
And it truly is
open to everyone.
(except for those with
s t a i n m a r k s
on their souls.)
Perfection demanded--
there's only one Right Way.
(So what happens if you've found another?)
