I pray the Lord

Thy soul to keep

For now you’re gone

Away from me

Taken

To the angels keep

Forever to be

For though

Your love

I may seek

It will forever be

Out of reach.

Your life

You lost

Your throat

Was slit

Your blood

Is spilt

Painting the roses

White to red

And as you cried

Your crimson tears

The blade I took

My heart to pierce

My eyes they close

And I slip away

I say a prayer

For you up there

What good it will do

Coming from down here, in hell,
