My car is parked behind the restaurant,
Just sitting there,
Listening to Oldies.
Staring at the beautiful way,
That the treetops meet the cloudy nighttime sky.
The water looks adventurous,
Neon signs are pretty nothings whispered in my eyes.
Sort of want to drive to her house,
See her car in the driveway,
Just to know that she made it home safe.
Sort of want to call her too,
She seems to think it’s obvious she likes me,
I’m always worried that she’s angry with me,
For good reason…
Goddess sleeping in her room,
Breathing sweet strawberries into her pillow.
Something I would never get tired of…
All of the dirt and buildings of our town,
Made for nothing more than random adventure spots for us.
To think that those times are over… those priceless memories,
I taste vomit at the thought of her traveling with another…
I wish zombies would take over the world,
If I saved her life a few times,
Maybe I’d be worthy.
We could walk into random buildings,
Help ourselves to sodas and juices.
Arm ourselves with baseball bats and handguns,
She would love me for sure… if I were the last man on Earth.
I’ll be lying wide awake later,
Maybe breathing a bit of saltwater into my pillow.
I can’t get away from this,
Just like Oldies,
This love is gold… full of meaning and soul.
I need her to forgive me…
Believe in me… I won’t let her down.
