listen, can you hear my heart beat?
murder, murder, it screams into the silence
why wont you give our love a chance?

smiles of sugar and lace I don
my act is perfect, don't you see?
I wear pigtails and pink bows
and vanilla scented glitter
as I give my lips a flavour
so maybe, someday, you'll suck the poison out

I'm so bruised, and bitten and burned
from enduring this bittersweet affair
mascara melts dreadfully down my cheeks
and you smell of fire and red wine
as you hold me close while I cry
my tears dripping in melting ice
don't you realize all that we could be?

sweetly numb I stare at you
eyes so starry, and ocean blue
my love lies and will forever remain dead
a lifeless love
until you bravely, hauntingly return it
but for now...i will wait for you
forever
covered in sugar and lace
and burying our tracks with lies
