Forever In A Day

I sit in complete silence.

Watching, waiting,

Seeing, breaking,

As the people pass by;

And as I try

To live and then fail,

To escape this hell,

The prison that is my life.

xx

Freedom, always out of reach.

Always so close and too far.

Reaching is so hard...

And so I continue to fall,

I continue to lose it all.

What I've worked through,

What I've tried to do,

All that is my life.

xx

As I try to get past

The rejection, the fears,

The hurt and the tears;

As I try to see into

What could become true,

What could open my eyes

To all that could be mine.

What could be my life.

xx

To break through at last,

Through all that held me

From all I could be.

I found hope,

I found I could cope

With what life brings,

And the joy it leaves,

In the pain, that is my life.

xx

For once, I found love.

For one day, I want to live,

And have the strength to give

All that I am; give it all away;

In this forever that lasts a day.

In this eternity that steals my breath.

In this love that saves me from death,

That ties my heart, my soul, to this world.
