Sick

I feel heavy today
Though my stomach grumbles
(I forgot to eat.)
And sounds echo inside my head
no thoughts to welcome their arrival
and cushion their fall
(I think I need a pill. Maybe three.)

My feet drag
My hair weighs my head down
And I feel heavy
so heavy
Though my stomach protests
and my mind rings

and my heart lies cold

For it is empty
(oh so empty) too
