The Beginning of the End

Tears streaming down your face

Anger written in your eyes

Frustration shown in your fists

Clenched together in rage.

I feel I've betrayed you

Let you down; through everything

That I've ever done for you

And all you've done for me

This time I can't repay you

Can't stand for you, can't help.

I reach, but I can't get close enough

So many stand in my way

You just get farther and farther away.

Wait for me!!

Don't let yourself fall;

I can't watch you fall, not to pieces.

But oh! Look, there by your side.

She's there; wiping the tears away.

She has taken over what I can no longer do.

She takes care of you, I can only hope.

You sigh, knowing you're safe with her;

And I melt into the corner,

This part of my life coming to an end.
