Colorblind

I used to know you

I used to see more than neutral

Your true colors are so beautiful

Why do you hide them?

-

If you could see through my eyes

If you could see how you blend in

Would you still be the same?

-

I miss the color of your eyes

And how I would lose myself in them

Willingly paled, they faded to grey

Yet I still drown in you

-

The darkness grows outward

My fists clenched, knuckles white

Draining color at loss for words

You make me colorblind

-

Greyscale pictures of you and I

The memories are blurry and faint

Time washed the life away

But I will never forget

-

All the colors you once shined

-

Close my eyes as you sleep tonight

Silent is my loudest cry

Can't bear to wake the eyes

That make me melt inside

-

So shut your eyes

Lose yourself inside

As I lose myself in you

And we are as one, colorblind…
