Chapter 1 -- The Two Jamies'

---

Walker Anderson, Jamie Anson, Dorian Walter belongs to part of the most popular circle of groups to hang out with, in Lincoln High. The reason why, was perhaps due to the resident playboy and heart-throb, Jamie Anson. It seems like wherever Jamie Anson goes, the crowd follows -- although, it mainly consists of the female population. Yet, that little detail does not bothers the three guys at all times. In fact, they appeared to be quite at ease among the crowd surrounding them.

Walker Anderson, was often referred as the 'silent one' -- the former was reserved, observant and most of all, intelligent. He was the 'brain', being good in nearly every subjects. Yet, he was the most loyal friend one could ever get to know, perhaps it was due to the fact that he, being the eldest in the family -- had a huge sense of responsibility and was sensible by nature.

Dorian Walter, the 'dare-devil' of the group was born in a prestigious family, whose parents' at least owned half of the school property. Yet, he was the most terrible person out of the three boys -- well-known for his bad temper when provoked, and his tendency to defy teachers' orders and disobeying school rules. One would not be surprised to find him in detention for the most days of the week; rude, conceited, and arrogance was in his blood -- one would have thought so just by looking at the way he carried himself around the school.

The last of the group was Jamie Anson, coming from an average modern family. Jamie was a real gentleman when it comes down to treating females, and he was charming by nature -- thus his reputation of being the school resident heart-throb. Everywhere he goes, females would crowd about him and with each dazzling smile he send their way -- girls would swoon at the sight of him. Yet, he was never willing to be tied down by a relationship -- whether it was due to his fear of committment or something else, no one had any idea. However, he would never deny any girls that headed his way -- but he would never commit himself; thus earning the nickname of the resident's 'playboy' of the school.

---

On the other hand, Jamie Anderson, the middle child of the Anderson family; younger sister of Walker Anderson -- was known as the school's resident top scholar. Like her brother, her grades was often the top of her level -- people envy her of having Walker Anderson, one of the most popular guy in school as her brother; but she had never paid them any attention. She had not much friends, the closest friend she had in class was Elise Smith -- a girl whom she had knew from her time in elementary school.

Elise Smith was standing at the height of hundred fifty centimetres tall, quite short for a sixteen years old; compared to Jamie whom was standing at the height of hundred and sixty two centimetres. The two girls had always stick by one another, both of them were always seen together wherever they go. Elise was nothing like Jamie though, while Jamie's grades were good -- Elise was the exact opposite. While Jamie had honey blonde curls, Elise was spotting straight hazel brown hair and brown eyes; unlike Jamie whom had blue eyes; that resembled the ocean.

Both Jamie and Elise were still unattached, and single -- in fact, they were so close to one another that they seldom paid the boys around them any attention -- with the exception of Walker Anderson, and his fellow friends.

Elise Smith originated from a single-parent family, thus was wary of committment as well -- fearing that one of these days, she was going to suffer the same fate as her parents. Even while Elise was facing Walker Anderson, the girl had some reservations of her own and she never dared to stay in the same room with Walker alone for more than five minutes. The only exception had been Sean Anderson, the youngest of the Anderson family -- Jamie's younger brother, of ten years.

---

It was just like any other day, Elise and Jamie was coming down the stairs from Jamie's room upstairs -- with every intention of raiding the kitchen for some snacks when the two girls caught sight of Jamie Anson hanging out by the dining room with the eldest Anderson's sibling, Walker. The two boys were apparently too caught up in their conversation to have noticed the two girls closing in on them, trying to get a clear understanding of what they had been discussing.

While Elise raid the kitchen, Jamie, being curious had hang around and try to catch the gist of the conversation the boys were having. Yet, nothing shared among the boys make any sense to her; thus she decided to be nosy for once and poke around the business.

"Hey, what have you guys been discussing about? Was it something illegal?" Jamie narrowed her eyes in suspicion, at the sight of the two boys' uncomfortable posture.

While Walker was trying to come up with something to tell his sister, Jamie Anson had beaten him to the respond and merely told his sister, Jamie that they were busy planning something for the school. Walker caught sight of his sister's suspicious glance and decide to change the subject to something else. Turning to his sister, Walker commented that Sean was staying over at a friend's place and would not be back for the day.

Jamie nodded absently, filing the information away but was still adamant to find out what the boys were busy planning about. She knew that they were lying since there had been nothing important at school that might required the council to be planning recently, Jamie Anson, had apparently forgotten the fact that she had been part of the council committee members, too.

"Walker, you know as much as I do that there was nothing to plan for -- in school. In case, you forgot -- I was with the council as well. So, no... that excuse would never work on me. Spill, what was it that you boys were discussing?" Jamie commented dryly, eyeing her brother with unwavering gaze.

Walker shared a look with his friend, before turning back to his younger sister, Jamie and stated. "It's not my place to tell, if you want to know details ... you will have to ask Anson. All I know was that he was trying to get some annoying girls off his back and was discussing various possible solutions with me."

Under normal circumstances, Walker would never refer to his friend by the family name -- but in this situation; it was done to prevent confusion. After all, his sister does share the first name with his best friend -- and it could be tiring to make himself clear in a conversation that both Jamies' was around.

"Oh... I see." Jamie commented, dryly. There was no doubt that the annoying girl in their conversation had been one of her classmate, probably Belinda Parkinson. Since Belinda was well-known for being a flirt and never knew when to give up when everyone else could see that the guy was hardly interested in her, at all.

Apparently, Belinda held some unknown grudges against Jamie, when the fact remains that they seldom crossed path. Jamie, in the end, simply summed it up as jealousy at work. Belinda had obviously hated her because she was related to Walker Anderson, one of the most popular boys in school.

---

After pondering for some time, the boys were back in their own conversation when Jamie spoke up. "Anson, why don't you just get yourself a girlfriend and make sure this time the relationship lasted more than a month? In that case, Belinda might actually get the clue and leave you alone..."

Jamie Anson stared up at Jamie Anderson, his expression unreadable. The thought that Belinda was pestering him might actually be due to the reason that he had given Belinda some ridiculous notion that he might be interested in her, when in actual fact, he could barely tolerate the girl's presence. The reason why Belinda had yet to given up was due to his prone of dumping girls one month after a relationship was established. Now that, Walker's sister had suggested for him to get some girl to pose as his girlfriend beyond a month ... the thought had never crossed his mind, but somehow he had a feeling that if he did exactly that, Belinda might leave him alone; in time.

After all, staying together with a girl for more than a month would be a rare sight and might actually indicated that he might be serious considering settling down, this time around. Although, it was not what he intended for -- but he supposed he could pull it off, if it meant getting the annoying Belinda Parkinson, off his back. The problem now, though -- was the candidate to help him in this ploy. Who could he approached and not lead them on to believe otherwise, most importantly, someone who would not get hurt at the end of the whole ploy?

Apparently, he had voiced his opinions out loud before he could hold his tongue. Walker stared at his best friend with disbelief, he had never thought to see a day whereby that guy would take an advice from his younger sister, whom shared the same name 'Jamie'. The fact alone stunned him, and to top it off -- those two had been 'fire' and 'ice' all this while. The sharing of the first name, 'Jamie' had them set as rivals in all sorts of things. His sister had always aimed to best Jamie Anson's grades, and determined to set new records in the fields of academic achievements.

Jamie Anson, on the other hand, had always aimed to spark off his sister's temper and get away without suffering the wrath. The former enjoyed teasing, taunting and provoking the younger Jamie into anger -- and often, he did achieve his aim at doing so. Placing the two Jamies in the same room alone, without supervision was a disaster. Walker would know, as he experienced first hand of the aftermath.

---

Walker, having known their rivalry, thought that it would be good for his sister to pose as Jamie Anson's temporary girlfriend. That was perhaps why he did not raised much of an objection when Jamie Anson first brought up the subject of having his younger sister, Jamie to pose as the supposed girlfriend. Yet, her sister had not deemed it at all funny and had threw a fit before agreeing grudgingly and knowing for a fact that if she had not agreed willingly to the ploy, Jamie Anson would still dared her into agreeing. Either way, she would still ended up as Jamie's girlfriend, it's better to agree to the ploy herself than to be tricked into it, later on in time.

Walker had nothing to worry about -- considering all history between his sister and his best friend, since his sister would never fell for Jamie Anson and vice-versa for Jamie Anson towards his beloved sister. On top of it, since his sister had knew the plan -- it would be easier when it comes to the time to break things off, since Jamie Anson would not be hurting someone innocent in the process. Another reason why Walker had suggested for Jamie to pose as the girlfriend of Jamie Anson, was probably because he was sick and tired of their bickering and wished for anything to put a stop to them.

By asking his sister for help in the ploy, would ensure and forced the two to spend time together. If not getting along, then at least the ability to tolerate at least one another presence's would be the end result of this whole situation. However, what Walker had not expected was literally for his sister to fell for his best friend and vice-versa for his best friend to his beloved sister. That, would come later -- when things started to change, for now, the two Jamies' will simply had to start putting aside their difference and learnt to tolerate one another.
