Smoke blossomed up out of the valley

the dragon of industry reared its head

A beached whale makes its own desert

A thunderous prayer for the faded dead

Flowers crushed beneath the wheels of progress

ancient ghosts eaten by blue flame

An alien hive of rusted life

discharges a torrent of black rain

And when this dragon’s eaten all he can

And when this monster’s had his fill

He’ll make the moon look like a Garden of Eden

Yes he will, oh baby yes he will

Smoke blossomed up out of the valley

A host of Nazgül kissed the sky

Paint the earth black with shadows

Mine shaft the devil in his eye

All this time we’ve been courting disaster

it brings dispair to your mama’s face

We’ve been nailing shut her mechanical coffin

Before we blast off to space (before we blast off to space!)

And when this dragon’s eaten all he can

And when this monster’s had his fill

He’ll make the moon look like a Garden of Eden

Yes he will, oh baby yes he will

And this dragon’s stomach goes on forever

like a circle it never ends

Well he can’t get enough and he won’t get enough

and that’s just where the trouble begins

‘Cause when this dragon’s eaten all he can

‘Cause when this monster’s had his fill

He’ll make the moon look like a Garden of Eden

yes he will, OH BABY YES HE WILL!
