Say nothing to this perfect dawn,
and recieve no sugar coated lies.
See how the tired smiles are drawn
beneath one creaking paper eye -

the other eye exchanged for tax,
and guilty, grieving, rotting tooth;
For eyes will gladly stab a back,
and teeth will always bite the truth.

But when I saw the wanton smiles
of many empty cyclopsed heads,
the bitterness that stretched for miles
became rage that was better fed.

And as I spied the helpless masses
reflected through my watching face,
that poison was reduced to ashes
and left one thinker in its place.
