Like every other poet's
word-bank love song:

I-
melt, dream, remember, kiss, miss, long for;
his, her, your, our;
eyes, lips, arms, voice, song, existence.

What else is new?

Your-
heartbreak, anger, silence, tears;
ache, hurt, shine, cut me to the bone;
how? why? what?
could you, could I have done?

The charming rough edges of nostalgia
chafe, chafe, chafe
me, you, us...
let the standard keep her coat of dust
and play me a fresh heartbeat.
