With every tick-tock second I bite my tongue harder,
wondering what you see when you look
at her and I side by side
aching to fire off
reproaches and demands, rat-a-tat
machine-gunning you to the wall.

What were you thinking?

Tick-tock, I bite down
on the arsenal between my teeth
watching you strut (slink?) away.
What a man!
Getting the best
of Lolita and Mrs. Robinson
and god only knows who else.

You must be proud.
