She stood before me, a sleek dress, the shade of a raven’s feather, hugging her tight along every curve, full lips contrasting perfectly with a deep red. As any man knows, looking upon such beauty is rarely so simple as a brief glance, for when I first gazed upon her ever tanned visage, something inside me soared. It was as if beauty had been born at that very moment, the pretense of this, unable to alter that unforgettable first glace. And do not doubt that is precisely what it was, a glance, for convincing oneself that they are worthy of viewing such exquisiteness is hardly a simple thing to do. Words caught in my throat, I could offer only a sheepish smile with my eyes searching the floor, before forcing out what sounds would come. Few times in my life have I found myself uncertain of myself as I did on this occasion.

Being left alone for a short time I found strength in my words and actions again, but this strength was one that could last for only so long, for so delicate and shapely a woman steals from a man his cocky demeanor, and instills a humbling sense that leaves one wishing never to leave her side. Perhaps it was her almond orbs, rare in their brilliance, like diamonds peering form the statue of a celestial goddess, or the way her smile, faultless as ever a smile could be, made my knees bend week, and heart beat with the urgency of a majestic faun running free for the first time in a grassy field.

Still only daring a glance, I found myself caught. Her gaze found my own, and all senses halted their nervous roam. There was only one focus now; no matter of nervous fluster could change this fact. How do you deny the sight of so angelic a creature once she has her grasp on you? I could not muster the courage to look away, but she held mercy in her heart for one so weak as I; for she turned to the portal, and walked beyond its borders. Conscious thoughts returning to my shaken mind, I stood just a moment longer, taking in a deep, awe struck breath, before following the beauty that lay ahead.
