A/N: Filler, basically. But still the premise for a mission. Just wanted to say that Journey’s back, with an interesting fight. R&R at your leisure.

“Lucien Fiazio. Born 1925. Died of anaplastic thyroid cancer in 1986.”

Reading out the soldier’s father’s death certificate was not easy for Stewart, but Robert nodded to confirm the facts. He was certainly old enough to remember how his father had died.

It was the evening after the raid, and the compound was abuzz. Stewart notched up BEACON’s sensitivity, after correcting the problem: an emitter that confused the sensors. Planted, of course, by Carl, the revealed Banshee.

Stewart and Robert sat in Sethryn’s office. The man himself sat behind his desk, watching the exchange between the other two.

Robert had requested to talk to Sethryn privately. In addition to being the rebellion leader, Sethryn was the only one with Robert when Slykeson had said his father’s name. Robert explained his father’s name, and when Slykeson had said “how far back our connection goes”.

Sethryn had nodded, and summoned Stewart over the intercom. The man came, paper in hand.

“What did your father do for a living?” asked Sethryn, simultaneously typing something on his computer.

“He worked in pharmaceuticals, that’s all he would say about his work.” Robert replied. As he heard the words come out of his mouth, he realized that was definitely grounds for something suspicious.

“Interesting…” muttered Sethryn. At the other two’s quizzical glances, he pressed a button on the arm of his chair. Instantly, the large blank wall displayed the contents of his computer screen.

“Must be great for games.” Muttered Fiazio. He had been an avid gamer before the incident. Another obsolete fact that seemed to matter so little lately.

To his surprise, Sethryn grinned. “Call of Duty, any time.” The joke reminded Robert just how young the leader really was.

Instead of WWII action, however, the screen displayed a webpage. It was, as Robert quickly realized, the website of the National Archives.

“Very suspicious circumstances. Your father’s records could not be obtained by civilians. Luckily, we have something of a backstage pass.” He gestured to the small box plugged into the computer’s USB port.

A green light appeared on the box, and the screen went from a page saying “Restricted Access” to “Please Wait…”

In seconds, a list of names appeared onscreen. Sethryn smiled, and scrolled down the immense list. Quickly, he came upon “Fiazio, Lucien.”

Robert leaned forward in anticipation. If there was any doubt about his father’s death, it was about to become clear. Whether he wanted to know was something that remained undecided.

His anticipation deflated like a balloon as the message “File Corrupted” appeared on the screen. It went downhill from there, as the light turned red and the window closed on itself. They were left staring at a blank desktop. Sethryn deactivated the screen.

“I’m ordering a mission.” Declared the leader. “That was the last straw. This is far too suspicious to pass by.” He pressed another button on the armchair, and Tanya entered soon after. Sethryn dismissed the two.

“You ready for this?” Stewart asked Robert, as the door closed.

Robert shot him a puzzled look.

“You know Sethryn, he’ll assign you to a mission like this.”

Robert shook his head. “I just got off of a mission. He wouldn’t put me back up that soon.”

The two stopped walking, and Stewart turned to face his young friend. “You know he will, not because it’s your duty. It’s your right.”
