Scars Heal

by Fabian Cortez

Scars heal they say

Even psychological

Will come too

One day

-

Cutting remarks

That wash of our backs

We only give value

When we answer

That

-

Yet, is it so easy

To brush it aside?

Is it so easy

With such pain

Inside?

-

Turn ice for a

Day, then why not

A year? Why not be

So cold, that

Ice becomes tear

-

Then ruthless and

Hardened, we find

Our own cold

And throw out remarks

We’d never of old

-

Others then scarred

By our scarred mouth

A heart now destroyed

Does others as well

-

There’s really no finite

Solution to pain

Yet I’d rather be

Feeling than

Ice that’s

Ascertained
