Making Up For Lost Time – still Travis’ point of view
I managed to convince Nick that we should hang out at my house, and I drove to my house as fast as I could without getting pulled over or arrested or sworn at by little old ladies trying to cross the street. Nevertheless, we managed to make it home without incident, and I practically rushed Nick into the house.
“Jeez, what’s the hurry?” he grumbled when I nearly pushed him into a sitting position on the couch.
“We gotta get the talking over with so we can get to the good part!” I exclaimed. Nick looked at me, utterly confused. It was an adorable look on him.
“Okay, I like you, and apparently you like me too. Okay, that’s over with, let’s get to the kissing,” I said, and reached for him. Nick held out a hand, stopping me.
“Hold up a minute,” he said, “you like me?” he looked completely surprised, like he’d had no idea that was coming.
“You didn’t know that?” I asked, “I thought I was pretty obvious,” I replied, raising my eyebrows. Nick blushed and looked down at his hands folded in his lap. I scooted over on the couch so our knees were touching and took his hands in mine.
“Nick, can you look at me?” I asked, and he looked up, our eyes meeting. I forgot what I was going to say, momentarily distracted by those bright, bright green eyes. Could this boy be any more attractive?
“I really, really like you, okay? I think I could even say that I love you. And I want to be your boyfriend. I want to be your first kiss and your last kiss…is that okay with you?” I asked. Nick just stared, his blush darkening.
“I…you can’t be serious,” he said. I rolled my eyes. If words weren’t going to work, then I had a better method to convince him. I held his face in my hands and gently pressed my lips to his. Then I let go and sat back to see his reaction.
“I am serious,” I told him, “do you believe me now?” Nick bit his lip and refused to look at me again. Jeez, what does it take with this guy?
“I don’t think this joke is very funny,” he said finally, still avoiding my gaze.
“A joke? You think this is a joke? Nick, are you really that blind?” I asked, “I just fucking kissed you! Why would I do that as a joke?” I exclaimed. Nick shrugged.
“I don’t know, but I don’t see how you could like me…” he trailed off, and I put my hand under his chin, lifting his face. Tears ran down his cheeks and I felt my heart ache for him. I wanted this guy so bad and the fact that he didn’t get that…
“I thought we went over this…Nick, you’re a hot guy, you’re nice, you’re smart, and funny, and I think you’re fantastic. I don’t know how else to say this to make you believe me. I love you,” I said, “but if you don’t believe me, then there really isn’t anything that I can do. I can bring you home if you’d like, and we can just forget this whole thing happened if that’s what you want.” It wasn’t what I wanted, but I wasn’t going to press Nick. He didn’t say anything right away, so I stood up.
“No, wait.” He grabbed my arm, “I…uh…can I stay, please? I believe you,” he added. I grinned and sat back down.
“So…um, I mean, does this mean I can be your boyfriend?” he asked, looking much less depressed and much more excited.
“Yeah, you’re my boyfriend, now can we get to the kissing part, please?” I asked, trying my best to look cute.
“I’d like that,” Nick said with a blush. I grinned at him and leaned in for the kiss. Nick closed his eyes as I placed my hand on his cheek and kissed him again, just as gently as the last time. At first. Then Nick grabbed the front of my shirt to pull me closer and opened his mouth and I slid my tongue inside. This is nice, I decided, and wrapped my arms around him.
We were still kissing when Tom came home an hour later. He came into the living room, made an “ahem” noise that caused us to break apart for a minute, Nick blushing bright red, and me glaring at my brother for interrupting.
“Well, it certainly took you two long enough,” he commented, looking amused.
“Is that all you had to say? Because if you don’t mind, Nick and I have some time we need to make up for,” I explained.
“Go right ahead,” Tom said, and walked out of the room.
“Now, where were we?”
