"there she stood, the lady in white,
dressed in all her finery insert dramatic pause
and in her hand...the knife dripped red"
intoned in dark, deep voice,
darkness the setting and comfortable blanket
layered in sub-culture tradition
design to strike fear (as usual) into the
hearts of the weak with the dagger (dripping red)

laughter, peals and peals, breaks the spell
that was woven with care and intricacy
like the lone springflower blooming
(too early, too soon)
during winter - worse for wear, later
and you deflect the looks of incredulity
indigant righteousness, smile-sorry
"game of cards", laughter-smile

"havoc girl" they said
"odd, freak" They said
"social pariah" you laughed
but just because you said you
didnt care
didnt mean it nullified it, them, me
and I know or I think that you secretly,
well,

maybe (just maybe, never know) you
were afraid that it would be
you dripping in red but not
like you care
at least that way I can understand
