If love is low then I am the essence of height

If love is lame I put up a fight

If love is dark then I am light

If love is blind then I can see

If love is expensive I am free

If hate is sad then that is me

If love is you then hate is me

If happiness is a car then I am a bus

If happiness is easy I make a huge fuss

And if hate is what you want I’m the crème de la crème

But if its happiness you’re after you’d better ask them

My life’s never been easy

But it’s never been hard

I never did fit in

But I was never a retard

It was always in the middle

I was always alone

There was no-one like me

I was never at home

I grew up in this world

Of self conscious distain

A world where it was pessimistic

I now always expect rain

And now it’s my nature

It’s who I am

If anyone comments

I say I don’t give a damn

I’m not love but I’m not hate

It’s easier to say the negative than think of what’s real

I’m on the edge of neutral

I don’t really feel

If happiness is one thing then I am the other

If happiness is the sister I am the brother

It’s never been easy

But it’s never been hard

I’ve never been open

But I’m not on my guard
