How did I know no one would care?

How did I know no one was there?

How did I know it was too good to be true?

How did I know I couldn’t trust you?

Why didn’t I listen to my mind

When it told me to leave you behind?

How could I have missed the signs so clear,

Signs of all the danger that was near.

Now it’s too late; it won’t work out.
