The Last Poem

I haven’t written in a while

my duty
my God neglected

I was His
beautiful and free
and lost my poetry
in his praise

Too many masters for only one servant

His psalmist
in love with his face

I will not succumb any longer
to Anyone but Him

and “he” will always be
my one and only
