Changes in Encounters: First Day, First Encounter
I looked up and yelled out “Here!”
as the teacher called out my name. For the first day of seventh grade
I was quite discontent with my morning classes. This was the first
class with any friends, and it was 4th period gym.
For the first few minutes, I was just there, sitting as the teacher
continued with the attendance. I began guessing who the person he
called out was. That’s how I first noticed him.
“Aiden Livingston?”
Heh, that was a funny last name. He was a boring person to look at. Not an eyesore, no, but he was just so plain and prim. His hair was neatly combed and just so... blah. All he wore were regular jeans (not baggy, dirty, or anything), a t-shirt, and a sweater. A sweater? It’s the first day of school, 80 degrees outside, and he wears a sweater to school? If I had to label him on looks, he was an extremely boring normal person.
I brushed the thought aside as my friends ran over to where I was sitting, ready to gossip about the past three periods. I’m not a prep, just a dork who happens to have friends that has preppy friends. Still, that Aiden kid was in the back of mind. After all, why would we ever have the need to talk to each other?
