Changes in Encounters: A Year's Worth

The next two weeks were a blur. The dance was the most memorable of all. Spending the night with him and my friends was great. Even though we hated to dance, they got us into one of the slow dances. Even though I hate dancing, I sort of wished that we could’ve danced a bit longer. That was the night I realized that we wouldn’t be going to the same school next year.

Every moment of the next two weeks were amazing. Even when our team lost field day, I had the greatest time with him. Even when school ended, we talked everyday, hoping that by chance, we’d be able to see each other one last time. After all, in July, he was going to be a student ambassador again and leave for a whole month.

Right now, he’s gone in Europe, probably having an amazing time. I know I sound pathetic when I say this, but he’s everything to me. Everyday, I wake up, hoping that somehow, someway, I’ll see him. Whenever I listen to music, I think about when we went to the concert. Whenever I take a picture, I remember all the times I would have to attack him playfully just to get a picture of him. When I go to sleep, I dream about him coming back. I know I sound obsessed, but I’m just a teen, madly in love. This isn’t middle school romance, filled with flings and drama. This is a relationship, built on a year’s worth of trust and friendship.

I love you.
