Pretentious
girl writes pretty swirls in lovely language across the page
And I
don't know where this will go, but I had such a good time the other
day
We did nothing in great amounts, "but we had fun, and
that's what counts"
Is what you said into my head while I
finally went to sleep this week
Pretentious girl flips fake curls
and flashes a smile for the screen
And I cant' find between the
lines, so I don’t know what you mean
I stay at home and clean
all day, "just like my mom" she just might say
But I am
content to live by rent, and you nod, contentious head
bob
Pretentious girl spins the world not knowing it's just her own
globe
And I type words that duck and swerve, trying to keep my
brain alone
We do or die day by day, I finally stopped caring what
others might say
I'm so proud, and you're so loud, and you fit, so
I think this is finally it
Pretentious
girl blinks and pretentious girl twirls
And somehow expects us to
make her our world
Hang on every sentence and every vague line
Not
realizing we don’t have that time
To waste our lives reading
what comes from her thoughts
To waste the time finding out that
she's totally lost
But she still writes her prose in a tight
pretty swirl
And nobody cares but pretentious girl
