Walk Out

Spending all my lifeWasting it all in a line
Trying to take in the pleasure
But always seeming to end up in pain
Life don’t always go my way
Phase after endless phase
Acting like I have escaped the endless game
That we’re all doomed to play

This wasn’t what I planned for
When I walked right out your door
You were to be just another memory
But it looks like Life is out to get me

I always see you on my street
With a guy I used to be
I wasted enough time on you
But it seems my heart ain’t through
I’m always hoping you will chang
And take my hopeful heart out of it’s cage

This wasn’t what I planned for
When I walked right out your door
You were to be just another memory
But it looks like Life is out to get me

Well do you recall my dear
The days before it all went up in tears
Always the same old games
Being put under the same old strain
Just by knowing your damn name

This wasn’t what I planned for
When I walked right out your door
You were to be just another memory
But it looks like Life is out to get me

This time for the first time
I’m waking up ahead
Instead of feeling worse than dead
Looks like it’s getting better after all
And I’m setting you up for your final fall
How does it feel to be put on the other end
The one still left holding on again
