Colorblind
In my eyes things are a little different
I see things way out of contrast
Eight dozen shoved in a box to mask
And disguise from the government
For this simple reason, you and I
Can’t seem to see eye to eye
I say you’ve got things all out of whack
And you tell me that I’m way off track
Well, it is a well known fact
That I see everything in the abstract
The way I get it from the town
Green turns to grey and then to brown
I’ve got some problems else where too
And no, it isn’t when I see blue
My difficulties lie with you
When you claim that everything you see is true
I’ve got my own simple, complex agenda
That I really should be getting back to
But since I really know you
You won’t be back anytime soon
Just promise you’ll come around
When you realize you’ve got some problems
With the colors that pick you to surround
I’ll take a look, and you’ll soon see it my way
Because it’s a well known fact
That I see everything in the abstract
The way I get it from the town
Green turns to grey and then to brown
Maybe both of our vision’s impaired
A small price to pay for what we might’ve faired
Be sure to check your clock
When you open the box
And see that simple little fact
That I see everything in the abstract
The way I get it from the town
Green turns to grey and then to brown
Simply because I’m
