The Apple’s Sin
The apple is a majestic orb of rich and deep flavor, red as blood, and yet also as red as a rose. The colors of the apple are brushstrokes of fresh spring and scarlet blossoms, blooming in vanilla-white and sun-thirsty flowers. The wintergreen sail perched upon its bow captures the scent of mint and forest, refreshing to the senses. Light green spreads into a bright yellow, which then expands into the surest red ever seen, it is vivid and deep, full of profound meaning. This irregular sphere flushes with crimson, but within, it is a globe of burning amber dripping with tangy syrup. Reflecting the sun’s hot, furious glare, the smooth skin seems glazed like ice, but a bite beneath the glossy surface pours out juice as sweet as love. This luscious bite is soft like leather and rich as a mound of melted gold and sugar delicately savored by the tongue, and the warm, scented honey and rose petals caress the tender taste buds.
This is the apple that the masses know. They know the brilliant colors, they know the divine flavor, and they know it as “good”. They know of this apple’s goodness.
But the black, ebony stem curved in a smooth angle, is a stem spawning sin and venom. The harbored seeds of spite and vice that, when scattered and nourished, sprout into a tree of never-ending wickedness.
For it was this apple that had touched Eve’s innocent, ruddy lips, filled with evil, sin and demise. It was this apple that had touched Snow White’s pure lips, filled with envy, death, and poison. This one fruit, holding a color of blood and beauty, a captivating taste that could capture a thousand armies, and the power of condemning flesh, who could have resisted such a thing?
Eve’s eyes catch the glimmer on the tree, a waxy, glass ball painted with blood. Her hand is lured to take this majestic orb and taste the enchanting, lovely, sweet liquid that seeps into the mouth in a seductive sweep. Swirls of hunger, desire, and lust grapple at her mind as she reaches up for the ruby, and finally, a subtle pluck. As her teeth sink down into the very core, the sheer pleasure disappears, for darkness had closed in on mankind.
This is the evil of the apple, which has caused sin and death to all.
