Trust

You said you were sorry.
That you didn't mean to act this way.
But how can we trust you?
Look at all that you've done.

You don't try to look pretty.
Avoid most of us.
I don't want to see you.
I want you away.

But then you sit at our table.
Some of us are very pissed.
The group begins to accept you.
Like nothing ever happened.

We pretend to choke you,
Right behind your back.
Some of us don't want you here.
We want you gone.

But you don't leave,
And things start to go back to normal.
But I'm still fully aware,
Of all that you've done.

I keep telling myself to hate you.
Feel indifferent at the least.
But I unintentionally go to you,
And I accept you like the others did.

Now none of us pretend to kill you behind your back,
But there will always be harsh feelings whenever you fuck up.
When there's trouble with you we'll remember before.
Won't give you the benefit of the doubt.

I'm glad to have you as my friend again,
Since there was a gap in my heart.
But you'll never get my trust,
For that you have lost.
