"NINETEEN"

Nineteen years old

Officially an adult

Lying through my teeth,

Making promises I'll never keep

Getting drunk twice a week

I'm not evil - I'm just nineteen!

Can't even believe

That I made it this far.

Should have died by now

In my home or in my car.

Computer screens, and cellphones

And glued to the tv.

By now all of this

Should have been the death of me.

Somehow, though, I've made it here

Where is here, I do not know.

Should be careful not to trip,

Cause I know that I have far to go.

Or at least that what they tell me

Fill my head with hopes and dreams

Fill my mind with paranoia

Gullible, naive, nineteen.

Nineteen years old

Officially an adult

Lying through my teeth,

Making promises I'll never keep

Getting drunk twice a week

My perfect excuse - I'm nineteen!
