Why can't they just like me as me?

Why do they have to criticize

Everything I say and do?

They don't like who I am.

They don't like whom I've become

I'm so very tired of trying

to be prefect.

When are they going to see

that I am me

and

they are them

and

I'm different

then them.

They will never get it.

So why try?
