Kinetic Energy (At It's Slowest)

Slowly rolling ball on a downgrade
Not steep and definitely not rough
Smooth and soft and deafeningly gray
Nothing could be more apathetic
The small sphere rolls on

No fear, no joy, no sense of pride
No hurt or pain to take in stride
It has but one thing- plain to see
All it has is kinetic energy

Placid movements across the floor
Dreary, driveling, dry and a bore
Nothing is easy yet nothing a chore
The ho-hum life of the rolling ball

Crafted for a purpose unknown to me
The bottom of the hill is beyond sight
Slowly turning time and time again
It has no care for its own redundancy
But then again, why should it?

Slowly rolling ball on an angled floor
Making a monotone noise as it drifts on
It passes no time for it knows no boredom
Its only mission is to obey gravity's rule
The small sphere rolls on.
