One Moment

As I looked across the crowded room from the corner of my eye,

I noticed you were looking at me and so I began to wonder why,

Of all the people in the room that I should be the one,

To get your attention at that moment, that single spilt second.

I held my breath hoping that this moment would always last,

Because you can never retrieve time already passed.

A thousand things ran through my head but time was almost up,

Oh how I wished that just this once the hands of time would stop

For just that moment, that point in time, that single spit second,

But hoping failed and life prevailed that moment was gone.
