Tripping

Wish upon the falling star

Of fleeting memories:

If I live them long enough

Will time come back to me?

Will you give me back the moments

That brought me to my knees?

If I listen hard enough

Can I hear them in the leaves?

Solemn sighing out the lyrics

Echo through my lonely heart

(That song we sang so long ago...)

Duet without my counter part.

I could never get the words out

Stumbling with a clumsy hue

But can you hear me now, love?

Because this song is for you.

Still tongue tied and tripping

Over a phrase I thought I knew

But can you hear me now love?

Because this song is for you.

Oh, can you finally hear me now?

Because I’m saying that I love you…
