Love.

The word is a strong one.

It has the power to build and help.

But, denied, it has the power

To destroy the heart and soul.

To love forever,

From near or afar,

Is the fate of every human

At least once in their life

Close to you,

Love provides the basis for the world

That is called life.

It surrounds and protects.

But afar,

Love provides us a mystery.

The yearning to know,

The knowledge that it is there,

Yet so far away.

The heart is forever changing,

For it is where love makes it’s abode.

It houses every feeling,

It stores memories and knowledge.

But when love is from afar,

It stores the yearning for the knowledge of one thing alone.

If that love is indeed requited.
