Kingdom of Clouds

The darkness of night protects the atmosphere,

a father’s shadow.

Clouds part and reveal the moon, a

king surveying his kingdom.

But the velvet sky is so much larger than

the icy moon, and the king surrenders

to the unmistakable victor.
