I’ve been through here so many times

and seen these things again

So why is it I cant recall

when last we made amends?

Apologies are now so weak

Soaked in blood and stone

Paper-thin man made lies

Etched into our bones.

Ever had an immune faith?

One which tells no lies?

Variations of love and peace

Ingrained in our eyes.

We see each other through broken glass

And expect the image clear

We seek the special talisman

To tell us what is dear.

We listen to the noisy dead

And watch the angels fall

Through death and trial and broken bread

We watch our puppet dolls.

How cruel we seem, so soaked in pain

Immune to our drug

Our brains wind down and simplify

To nothing more than slugs.

This stain is here forevermore

Locked in a conscious spin

Yet forces lie behind our minds

That will never let us win

Deception rumbles down his path

So seemingly weak and kind

But really all he wants to do

Is burrow straight to your mind

Till your so weak your body dies

In fiery Hell and flame

With nothing more than your own fault

Don’t even try to complain.

Mankind has seen what lies beyond

The rainbows resting there

And he has trembled at the thought

That no one seems to care.

Out for ourselves and full of lust

Our greed continues to grow

And maybe one day in the future now

It will begin to slow

I’ve been through here so many times

And seen these things again

So when is it that Ill see

Humanity make amends?
