That Fateful Day

I sigh and walk away,

The end has come today.

It was the last time I saw your face.

For today you've found your place.

No matter how hard you have tried,

From you I'd always hide.

Today was the last time I'd take this.

And in all honesty, you I will not miss.

As I confronted you, I felt power.

I felt as if this time it'd be you who would cower.

It seemed as if you didn't see this coming.

Did you really think I'd let this keep happening?

Tonight was your last night on Earth.

And your death was as beautiful as birth.

I stood there, watching as you took your last breath.

Praising myself on the style of your death.

So tonight I walk away,

Tonight I will not stay.

I will leave this place,

With the last memory of your face.
