Warning
Fire and water
Don't mix very well
Try to burn me
And I'll make your life hell.
There's not much keeping me from you
There's only a dam
But mess with me and it's gone,
Splash! Here I am!
I'll overtake you, just wait
And watch this river flow
You'll get swept away screaming
By my furious undertow.
As the freezing water fills your lungs and
Chills you to the bone
You'll call out for a savior
But find that you're alone.
You kick and scream and struggle
And try to defy the tide
But waves crash all around you,
There's no where you can hide.
You'll choke and sputter and gasp for air
But I fear it is too late
The waterfall's not far from here
I guess we'll have to wait.
The rapid current quickens its pace
You look around but there's no land in sight
The only thing you see is that five-hundred foot drop
Suddenly you're filled with fright.
Your life flashes before your eyes
And you draw one last staggering breath
You close your eyes and wait
For your inevitable death.
You hear the roaring water-
The sound of my vengeful laughter
But I decide, that's enough,
I've got what I was after.
Suddenly you open your eyes wide
Feeling a new and renewed hope
Just in time you see your lifeline-
A twisted, vine-like rope.
So I guess, just for this once,
Your fate has been surpassed,
But you only get one break;
That chance was your last.
And finally, this frightful tale
Has come to an end
But a tale is not complete without
The message it must send.
And my message to you is this-
No long, exquisite art,
Just a few wise words:
Don't toy with my heart.
