A MOMENT ON THE DANCE FLOOR

Seven years on now
a late night conversation
a none too surprising
gentle revelation
our voices getting tired
our resistance wearing thin
and we let each other in
to the soft side of the intensity
just trust me
not now, not yet
perhaps never if we forget
these hands are looking older
the supernova's getting cold
I'm just happy I know now
because
there was a moment on the dance floor
when we slipped to the other side
but we caught oursleves
shook it off and apologized
but if you ever have the urge again
to touch your lips to mine
give it a try
come on in, the water's fine
